Hillary Clinton could yet derail Barack Obamas presidential campaign after video emerged yesterday of the former First Lady refusing to rule out a divisive floor vote at his nominating convention this month.
The tense behind-the-scenes battle over how to recognise Mrs Clintons achievements at the Democratic Convention, which opens in Denver on August 25, burst into public view with footage of her telling supporters that she was looking for a strategy for her delegates to be honoured.
Mrs Clinton, filmed talking to mainly women supporters in California last week, refused to rule out the prospect of including her name in an open ballot of all members of the convention. The move would be unprecedented for the leading losing primary candidate in recent times because it would force delegates to pledge publicly their support one by one.
I believe we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views respected. That is a very big part of how we actually come out unified, Mrs Clinton said. She received 18 million votes in the primary campaign, narrowly lost the pledged delegate race and registered a string of thumping victories over Mr Obama in the later stages of the nominating battle.
Mrs Clintons aides said it was highly unlikely that she would go as far as to demand a nomination roll call but the negotiations between the campaigns reflects the considerable bitterness that still exists, particularly with Bill Clinton and many of his wifes supporters.

More popcorn, please. :O)
Her achievements - give me a break. What, staying with a notorious philandering husband is an accomplishment? In what world? (Oh, New York, yea, thats the ticket!)
There’s not enough popcorn in the WORLD for this convention.
Oh oh, here it comes. If Obama continues to slip, The whole game could have a spectacular change.
I cannot enjoy this! I am vomiting from every cavity of my body. An American who can continence this $hit is beyond hope of understanding or contributing to the American dream, and it is obvious we are overwhelmed with them.
As Rush said today: Operation Chaos Phase II
What you said...
I have the rope, pitchforks, and torches ready to go. How on earth have we allowed this pathetic situation to happen?
CW2... it’s for the children.
This is true!
It will never happen. People are just to complacent, too busy indulging in their own pleasures to give a damn about anything else. I don't think even an invasion of a foreign nation would get anyones attention. Does Constantinople ring a bell? History repeats.
She's right though. The Democratic Party will be stronger if the floor vote is allowed, even if the outcome is predetermined.
If Obama opposes Hillary on this, he risks alienating more of the moderates and centrists in the Democratic Party, and this means that they'll be less likely to vote.
But given Obama's track record on things like this, I expect him to err on the side of caution and choose the path least likely to threaten his nomination/coronation.
Then I just got one word for ya, brother: Whiskey.
o’bama is an invention of hilary, and will drop out at right to give another little time to run before the election.
The Dems are having a serious case of Buyer’s remorse, but we will never see the media discuss it. If the shoe were on the other foot, there would be hundreds of headlines on the story.
I WILL be watching as much of the convention as time allows. :)
Obama drop out for Hillary?
Unlikely.
Meet his untimely demise because of Hillary?
Hmmmmmmm.
If O’Bambi is 3-4 points down on McCain and falling by the start of the Convention, what is a superdelegate to do? You can’t ride that horse to defeat. Wouldn’t it be better to take a chance on Hillary?
It’s looking better and better for her. I still think Obama’s easier to beat, so I hope she doesn’t win this nomination.
To laugh or cry— I say, laugh. We are here on this forum because the democrats are the way they are. Now that their antics are causing a spectacle, that's a good sign. I do understand your outrage, believe me. But many on the Free Republic forum have toughened their hides in order to handle the cesspool of modern left wing politics.
