Majority Democrats in the California Assembly have rejected two amendments that would have allowed schools to fire any employee discovered to be part of an extremist terror network and require users of school facilities to affirm they are not terrorists.
A report from Karen England at the Capital Resource Institute said the amendments were submitted by assemblymen Martin Garrick and Chuck DeVore to a plan that also would allow members of the Communist Party to teach in public schools.
"I am appalled that Democrat lawmakers will not agree to these commonsense amendments," said England, executive director of CRFI. "My son is currently serving in Iraq to defend our state and nation from terrorists, yet Democrats will not do their part on the homefront to also defend us from such extremists."

“Yes, these are the same communist nutcases of the Kalifornia Politburo that want to finish off what is left of the government education system and turn it into their commie idealogical breeding ground to take over the minds of our children. That is why they are pushing to allow hardcore communists teaching our kids, and to say nothing of their mental case terror-lovers that want terrorists in our schools. See what is running our state now - see it very clearly!!!”
You do realize don’t you that California is actually the only state that currently says you can be fired simply for being a member of the communist party? All other 49 states have wiped that from their books.
I’ve felt this way for many years now. They used to call conservatives ‘the silent majority’ but over the past several years I’ve noticed a slow and incremental transformation. Silence became whispers and whispers became audible protests. How much longer before we hear out-right rage? After that, who knows?
Shouldn't be. Communists and terrorists are the Democrats constituency.
The democrats are 100% in agreement with the goal of the radical jihadis - destroy Western Civilization.
Well, put. It is so easy to get carried away and, with all good intent, destroy liberty rather than protect it.
One more thing.
“...require users of school facilities to affirm they are not terrorists.”
Let’s see, would that average terrorist sign some kind of statment attesting to the fact that they are a terrorist? Of course not!
A terrorist would not say that he is one. He would lie on the document and sign it.
That, then, would be an offense with which the terrorist could be charged. (Al Capone was ultimately convicted of tax evasion, not murder.) Similarly, every moslem entering the U.S. should have to aver that he is opposed to the idea of jihad - not that they would not lie, but to make it easier to deport them when they do.

Really?? I thought if you wrote that into law every terrorist would obey it.
They already have been for 40 years.

California law already says that people who openly advocate terror cannot be a state employee or use state facilities for meetings. The amendments were nothing more than publicity stunts.

Thanks for the reasoned analysis. But you’ve ruined people’s kneejerk fun in bashing California, it seems.

Dang. I’m no fun.
I dunno, maybe it’s just the article but both sides sound like they are nuttier than squirrel poop.
That explains it.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
“One small step closer to the inevitable rebellion. Call it the tipping point or boiling point, or whatever but one day soon the average American citizen is going to have had enough of this crap from our elected representatives.”
That’s a fact.
“You know I hate to say this, but things with the rats are getting so bad that I honestly believe a civil war (bullets and everything) may be the only way to take our country back.”
Unfortunately, you are right.
