Barack Obama, responding to a week of taunts from John McCain’s campaign, said Tuesday that his Republican detractors “take pride in being ignorant” and that it’s time to get serious.
The Illinois senator was responding in part to criticism from Republicans who mocked him for suggesting last week that Americans could save on energy costs and gas by properly inflating their tires. McCain surrogates passed out tire gauges that say “Obama’s Energy Plan,” and McCain said last week the “only thing” Obama has proposed with regard to energy is to inflate tires.
“This is the kind of thing they do. I don’t understand it,” Obama said at a town hall meeting in Berea, Ohio, Tuesday. “Two points: One, they know they are lying about what my energy plan is, but the other thing is they are making fun of a step that every expert says would absolutely reduce our oil consumption by 3 to 4 percent.
“It’s like these guys take pride in being ignorant,” he said.

Obama’s got no problem with the us against them paradigm. You can hear it in his words. His not conciliatory in the least to people who won’t be voting for him. A true marxist.

Ignorant is a code word for racist. Ignorant and racist goes together like peas and carrots. The use of this word is quite deliberate.
He’s running as keyword coded campaign as they come. He’s systematically trying to embarrass and shame the undecided idiot into casting a soul cleansing vote for his persecuted ass.

No, it isn’t an improvement. Having been in one of the conversations where the term was used regarding someone else, it is perjorative.
I contend that a engine properly tuned with correct oil weight beats the hell out of tires 2 pounds underinflated.
Now, go try to tell your wife to use a tire guage daily or even try telling her what to do.

Just look how McCain has changed the entire “mood” of the campaign in just a couple of weeks.
2 weeks ago, Obama was in Europe being crowned king of the world. The halo was still on.
Now McCain has gotten Obama to come down off his lofty perch and play like every other politician.
Obama really sounds defensive and whiny.

Apparently the energy plan will include a law that says it’s illegal to have your tires underinflated and to enforcce the law they will have a cop at every gas station paid for by the federal government.
I guess he’s above reproach, particularly from Pubbies, and of course bitter gun-totin’, flag lapel pin wearin’, white folks who resent illegal aliens.
Good political move. Now insult southerners again. You’re on a roll.
