We gathered on the north side of Lafayette Square at 2:30 to scope out the terrain. The moonbats had permitted Lafayette Square and the sidewalk in front of the White House. Not that the less than 100 Out of Iran and pro-Palestinian groups needed that much space. All in all, their small group looked pitiful in light of their claim that a majority of Americans supported their anarchical views. Even when the moonbats persuaded some on lookers to march with them for a short time, they were pitiful.
For you D.C. FReepers, the regulars were there, Squeegie, Princess (in leather drag), Wuke, and Chief Grumpy from Olney. The head Code Pinkos were noticeably absent. I guess after their failed attempt to get us out of Iraq, they didnt want to support another failed leftist cause.
We had all of Pennsylvania Avenue to spread out on. Our group of Patriots included 3DJoy, BufordP, Cindy_True_Supporter, DaveLoneRanger, Eager, Fraxinus, Pasquale, RongKirby, sauropod, [Mrs] Trooprally (aka [Mrs] T), myself and two Vets.
Pics and videos for this report were by [Mrs] T
As everyone knows, it takes only one FReeper or Eagle to rain on the moonbats parade, no matter how many moonbats show up. Our group did a great job today. We were able to walk around Pennsylvania Avenue, talking to the crowd, verbally attacking the moonbats message and just giving them a hard time. The only American flags on Pennsylvania Avenue this day were ours. We also had a lot of tourists who had their pictures taken with out signs. WE had a good time, but not sure if the moonbats did.
The moonbats held signs about No Sanctions. Well, the complain that Bush was a cowboy in Iraq, and now that he is going through the UN and has sanctions on Iran, they still complain. They just have an un-health hatred of Bush and the U.S.
Several of our signs were courteously provided by FReeper davidlachnicht who has a really great collection of posters for our use. Close ups of the ones we used are below.
The below poster was changed a little. We replaced the ! after Iraq with a check mark, and put IRAN ? To the right. You can see Cindy_True_Supporter holding it in our group picture.
These are the other two we used:
There was one poster that no one used. It was from the Carter era. It said:
Made In America
Tested In Japan
Harm One Nation
Well Drop It On Iran
5+ Minute Video HERE on a new conservative site called EYEBLAST.TV. [Mrs] T had to swat away the bull horn from the loud mouthed Code Pinko when she got too close. There was an officer close by, watching the action, who told the Pinko to move back after [Mrs] T defended her space. We also had [Mrs] Ts back so if the officer didnt step in, we would have. But [Mrs] T was holding her own.
And a 2+ Minute Video HERE
HERE is the photo file for the day.
BELOW: The Initial FReeper Roll Call of Patriots (L-R): Me, RongKirby, Fraxinus, Eager, BufordP and Cindy_True_Supporter. While holding the U.S./Marine flag pole, Eager had a lot of Vets come up to him and thank him for being there. While not a Vet himself, he was a forensic police office until being medically retired.
BELOW: The Final Roll Call of Patriots (L-R): Eager, RongKirby (also GoE), sauropod, Vet, DaveLoneRanger, Fraxinus, BufordP (in shadows), Vet, [Mr] Trooprally (me), Cindy_True_Supporter, 3DJoy. Pasquale had already left. Davidlachnicht signs were on the back of BufordPs large signs and on several smaller poster size signs. The No Nukes For Kooks sign has a picture of Ahmadinejad.
BELOW: Moonbats/anarchists at their first coming out of the closet moment, heading from Lafayette Square to the White House sidewalk.
BELOW LEFT: RongKirby being not-so-covert. BELOW RIGHT: RongKirby: Just having some fun officer. Cant let them Protest Warriors all the fun
BELOW LEFT: Sauropod and Pasquale. Pasquales sign says Remember the Embassy - 1979" with a picture of the U.S. hostages. BELOW RIGHT: DaveLoneRanger and me.
BELOW LEFT: Two Vets who joined us taling to a moonbat. Yes, that is one of my good smoking cigars the Vet on the right has. BELOW RIGHT: BufordP coming into frame on left, Cindy_True_Supporter (dark shirt) standing next to 3DJoy with flag, and Sauropod with How About sign.
BELOW LEFT: The Palestinians were there. BELOW RIGHT: The idiots who dont know that we are not at war with Iran.
BELOW: The leftist complained about Bush being a cowboy, so he had the UN put sanctions on Iran. And a blockade is still a non-violent option. Now they dont even like what their beloved UN is doing.
BELOW LEFT: Chief Grumpy was there. (Right side of frame in dark shirt). BELOW RIGHT: Any one remember her from the Olney FReep on Sept. 06,2006? She had cut n run long ago from there.
Great report! Boy that was fun!
Great show Trooprally and all those who stood up.
You gotta love those signs (ours, that is)!
God bless all of you for standing against the nutjobs.
What fun!
I never counted more than 29 of them marching around in circles at one time...add a few organizers and when they marched to the park for their pitiful rally it seemed 40 max.
I felt sorry for that little dog walking on the hot pavement...the woman was hot so had an umbrella, but did not care about the dog!
I guess they had a few people follow them to listen to their lies...I wonder if any heads exploded? LOL
Thanks MrT for the report, and MrsT for the pictures and video. You do a great job organizing these events. Thanks from all of FR!
Just a note about counter-protest posters in general:
For many of these folks, there is a fine line between carrying a poster that explicitly details how you feel about an issue, and carrying a sign for the sole purpose of pissing-off liberals.
One of my favorites from long ago was “Iron My Shirt B!atch”. While I’m sure the fellow who raised that sign at a feminist rally truly appreciated a fine crease, I doubt he brought his laundry expecting full-service.
The sign choice a person makes depend on their passion, their politics and even their sense of humor.
You’re welcome, and of course correct. Simply calling them “commies” doesn’t get us anywhere. In fact, it frequently does more harm than good, since most people (those who are clueless about the communist movement, then and now) who we say these things to often laugh at the suggestion. But if you can provide them with the straight-from-the-horse’s-mouth evidence supporting your accusations, it should have a profound positive impact on them. At least I would like to think so.
You guys are the absolute best!!
I was checking out the photo file and could always tell the good guys from the bad guys in the thumbnails by the American flags.
Please keep up the good work.
Count me in if you guys decide to do something at U of M this fall!
“The real terrorists in the world today are the National guard and cia”?
Is that what the circle of retards are chanting?
I still don't get why the moonbats are protesting a war in Iran.
We're not even in Iran. Are they geographically challenged, among all of those other wonderful attributes they possess?
I'm not calling them commies. I'm just protesting communism in general.
I meant telling others that they're communists, *without providing them the smoking gun evidence to prove it*, doesn't get us anywhere. Most people today have been conditioned by the liberal leftist media to think the whole idea is a joke, something only 'paranoid' people believe.
They apparently get their marching orders from Moscow well in advance of any action we might take on one of their allies. Russia and China despised the idea of a US-friendly Iraq, but will really go nuts if their buddies in Iran (and their nuke facilities) are attacked. They, China and the islamo nut jobs are all in this together against the West.
Oh, I understand that. I just think it's funny that the moonbats are so desperate to protest a war that they choose one that doesn't even exist.
Yet.
The bats did the same thing right after 911. They demanded we not attack Afghanistan. And also before the Iraq war. But of course these groups aren't really "anti-war", but rather pro-communist and anti-capitalist.
Yes, I even participated in FReeping A.N.S.W.E.R anti-war rallies shortly before Operation Iraqi Freedom began. (And boy, was that fun!) But we already had war plans at the time and it was clear to everyone that it was going to happen.
Iran remains a mystery. At least as of now, it does.
