The Democratic Party advertises itself as the party of the “working person” while denouncing Republicans as the party of “the rich.” In Northeast Pennsylvania, the Democrats still hold to their tradition of standing up for the working person. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, just did her best to destroy American jobs, maintain high oil prices (which translate into higher prices for necessities like food, heat, and work-related transportation), and keep the stock market on a downward path. It is well known that a bad economy works against the incumbent party in a national election, so it is arguable that Speaker Pelosi deliberately sabotaged the economy of the United States to promote the election of Barack Obama.

Dems turn out the lights on Republicans and lower oil prices

Thanks to Nancy Pelosi congress adjourned for five weeks without addressing America’s energy crisis.

Speaker Pelosi refused to allow a vote on increased off shore drilling choosing instead to leave for vacation even though Republicans protested loudly saying that the refusal to allow a vote is harmful to the economy. Pelosi’s response was to turn off the lights and cut the microphones on Republicans.

What was Nancy Pelosi’s motive in sabotaging discussion of a clear and present danger to the economy of the United States? ... It could well be argued that Pelosi’s role is to “torch” the economy of the United States [like an arsonist who "sells" an unprofitable building to the insurance company] to get desperate people to vote for “change,” much as desperate Germans voted for “change” during the early 1930s.

Free Republic; if we really want to hurt Burqa Pelosi and her left wing allies, we must promote the argument that she deliberately sabotaged the country's economy--and I can think of no other motive for shutting down Congress only a few months before a Presidential election, thus preventing debate on a real solution to our energy problems--to get desperate people to vote for "change." This could cost votes not only for Obama but also plenty of left-wing Democrats in Pelosi's camp.

Well, Just my opinion, but I think it would be a real shot in the arm for Republicans if W were to have a televised press conference and call Congress back into session. Cite their “do nothing” neglect for the interests of working Americans by ignoring the energy issue.

It ought to be apparent to any sane person that the Democratic Party cannot be trusted with national security/national defense. It also ought to be apparent to anyone that the Democrats are trying to ruin the economy to increase their chances of getting elected. They are willing to destroy the industrial base of the country. They are willing to ruin the economy. They are will to lose a war so they can prove a point. There may be a few residual decent Democrats out there but they are few and far between, at least at the national level. There still may be some decent Democrats at the state level in some states.
