I just called and said "There's a Republican revolt going on int the House Chamber and I wasn't seeing much coverage of it." I got a run around on it. Was told several times "There are no cameras on now. Cameras are not allowed." I objected, politely, that the story could still be covered.

He seemed mildly irritated that I would question that and asked if I wanted to talk to (name garbled) and I said yes. Got a phone tree that led to leaving a recorded message. I did...

"There's a Republican revolt going on in the House Chamber. I understand that the cameras are turned off. You can still cover the story. Thank you."

When I worked for a corporation, everyone in the company couldn’t take their vacations at the same time. Why? Because the company had business to take care of. Why does the most important company in America shut completely down? Bravo to the individuals that want to get the business of the nation done!

Most corporations aren't characterized by the opposition politics which are so much a part of Washington. If a few Republican Senators were on vacation out of reach of Washington while the Senate was in session, do you really doubt that the Democrats would exploit the opportunity to pass legislation they otherwise could not?

I am going to do better, sending 10 million emails out on Monday. Not all of us can join the fray at the House but we can do it elsewhere.

I forget which MW House guy was on the other night - Iowa? He was sharing time with the Texas guys. The guy with the chart that shows the 1% sliver of wind & solar that the dems say we can use for our energy and we just need to grow that 1% to fix our problems. A picture is worth a 1000 words. Our guys need some smaller portable versions of that chart or similar to go on the shows. I gurantee if the sheeple see that chart the dems are toast on this issue.

Here are the numbers from Wikipedia on worldwide supply.

World oil production growth trends were flat from 2005 to 2008. According to a January 2007 International Energy Agency report, global supply (which includes biofuels, non-crude sources of petroleum, and use of strategic oil reserves, in addition to crude production) averaged 85.24 million barrels per day (13.552×106 m3/d) in 2006, up 0.76 million barrels per day (121×103 m3/d) (0.9%), from 2005.[65] Average yearly gains in global supply from 1987 to 2005 were 1.2 million barrels per day (190×103 m3/d) (1.7%).[65]
The IEA’s March 2008 Oil Market report showed global supply to be 87.5 mb/d, compared to 84.3 mb/d in July 2007, a 3.8% increase on that interval. The great bulk of the increase came in the non-OPEC sector, which now makes up 65% of global production.

Worldwide supply since 1987 has risen. World crude oil demand grew an average of 1.76% per year from 1994 to 2006, with a high of 3.4% in 2003-2004. Prices for gas in the U.S. have more than tripled since 2002.

While price is directly related to supply and demand, it’s not necessarily proportional. The dramatic increase in the price of oil since speculation in oil futures began, however, leads me to believe that this is more of a significant factor than anticipated demand. That doesn’t mean that anticipated demand is not a significant factor.

Mark Levin had given twenty five of the most conservative house members a rousing speech a few days ago. [He read it on the air today.] Darn, man! Two more speeches like that and we’d win for certain.

The House GOP grows a spine but manages to lose it again in less than 5 hours.

NO WAY! Not a disappointment! This was a great move by the House!

Has anyone from our side offered comprehensive legislation? I’m listening.

It doesn't have to be "comprehensive." Even the federal budget (monstrosity that it is) is passed in discrete pieces. There is absolutely no reason we should not have a standalone offshore drilling bill - except for the opposition of the Democrat party....

That’s because it’s what they want us to believe. It’s what everyone who is profiting from raking the rest of us over the coals wants us to believe.

No. The House is by the people and for the people. It’s not longer about partisan politics, it’s about making a statement about treason within our own House.

They probably found an old rule from a decade ago in order to ‘blame’ the Republicans.

Waiting to see what Laura Ingram says about this.

How about we press for congress to let the oil companies drill in places like ANWAR and off-shore...

Bingo! The oil is there - and in my opinion the government estimates are conservative...
