Barack Obama calls for new national energy policy (Obama says forget drilling, air up the tires)

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama today called for reform of the nation's energy economy, accusing President Bush of "letting the oil companies write his oil policy" and promising to send Americans gasoline rebate checks, double automobile fuel-efficiency standards and wean the United States from dependence on foreign oil.

"It's too important for us to be doing business as usual," Obama said in a town hall meeting here after a private session with victims of the June floods. "When George Bush came into office he put Dick Cheney in charge of energy policy. . . . We cannot afford four more years."

Hey, I don’t think you get my drift here. The poster edited that into the article. It doesn’t say. I’m well aware of the utube video out there. For the LA Times to list the air in tire flap would be significant.

I’m all for posting article, but embellishing the article makes us look stupid and partisan.

I'm not embellishing anything because that is Obama’s energy policy. If the LA Times want to purposely leave it out I will purposely put it in. I'm not taking away from their title by use of my own words which is clearly separated from their title.
I am partisan, I'm a Conservative and Obama’s not.
