Be right wing and multiply

Today's liberalism is completely wrapped up with the notion of self.

...

For dramatic proof, go to the streets of a liberal enclave like San Francisco, Seattle or Vermont. There will be plenty of expensive boutiques, antique dealers, health spas, sushi bars and upscale coffee shops. But you won't see very many children. The reason is not that right-wingers have dumped buckets of birth control pills into the San Francisco municipal water supply. The simple fact is that many on the liberal left today just don't want to have children. A 2004 U. S. survey showed that a typical sample of 100 unrelated adults who called themselves liberal will have 147 children. That contrasts with the typical conservative, who is likely to have 208 children per 100 unrelated adults. That's 41% more.

...

This birth gap presents a quandary for politically active liberals. Not wanting to be inconvenienced with raising their own children, they still want to see their ideas perpetuated. Professor Darren Sherkat of Southern Illinois University worries that because conservatives "who have lots of children" are not being matched by those on the political left who "may well not have kids," these demographic trends will push the country in a more conservative direction. (Data indicates that 80% of children end up adopting the political attitudes of their parents.) To counterbalance this trend, he argues for increasing immigration and expanding the black population. He also hopes that childless liberals will "be able to reproduce themselves in strangers," by taking on jobs as teachers, writers and other people of influence. The idea is to let conservatives raise their children, while liberals influence them through the schools and universities.

Some of the child-free liberals later have regrets, as discussed in the story at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2053613/posts .

There you go. They admit to planning to indoctrinate our children. Regardless of where kids go to school, parents should know who is teaching their kids and what they are teaching them.

"The simple fact is that many on the liberal left today just don't want to have children."

That should be obvious by the number of children they kill every year at their birth control...er, abortion clinics.

Good. I always felt conflicted about the idea of forced sterilization. :)

Fabulous! Let them extinct themselves! Just like the dinosaurs (and the dinosaur media).

Between being gay and not being able to procreate, being flat out selfish and not wanting to procreate and the liberals destroying most of the offspring they do procreate (via abortion) there should be less and less of them as time goes on.

And of course the futility resulting from matching plumbing.

Not wanting to procreate is “flat out selfish”?

I read post #13 in reply and wouldn't agree either with the context-less idea. Someone might have children for arguably selfish reasons, and someone might decide not to have children for arguably unselfish reasons.

But I still can see lots of people not having children for arguably selfish reasons, too.

Look at the popularity of the very term "child-free." It gives me the impression, especially in hand with all the other "-free" terms, that children are a nuisance, an inconvenience, a burden--or worse. Even if I had decided not to have children for Personal Reasons, I could never identify myself with that term or with a group using the term--unless I actually agreed with that impression.

Yes, one of the people quoted says that the reason they don’t have children is because they’re selfish. While I suppose that’s the case with some, I find it annoying when it’s the assumed to be the presumptive motivation for those of us who choose to be childfree.

Objectively speaking, children are a nuisance, and inconvenience, and a burden. They are also (for some) a joy and a blessing.

I'm not so sure that "childfree" has a positive connotation, any more than "childless" has a negative one.

Liberals' means is indoctrinating children in schools and universities to perpetuate their legacy. Liberals may be incapable of reproducing their own kind, but we'll feel the destructive influence of their nonsensical philosophy for a quite awhile yet.

A critical component of the fight for the future of the country is to break the leftist stranglehold on education. Parents need to regain their traditional position as arbiters of what their own children learn.

The most direct, politically pragmatic step is to push more strongly for school vouchers, redeemable to those schools accredited by state or local (but NOT federal) government, for a value up to some cap equal to the amount paid per student under the local public school board. For homeschoolers, the voucher should be fully redeemable as a tax credit.

The media is another problem, but my feeling is that their current level of cultural influence will not persist, as the internet changes the scaling laws for custom media content.
