House Panel: Karl Rove Is In Contempt Of Congress Ignores House Judiciary Committee Subpoena
WASHINGTON (AP) ― A House panel Wednesday voted to cite former top White House aide Karl Rove for contempt of Congress as its Senate counterpart publicly pursued possible punishments for an array of alleged past and present Bush administration misdeeds.
Voting along party lines, the House Judiciary Committee said that Rove had broke the law by failing to appear at a July 10 hearing on allegations of White House influence over the Justice Department, including whether Rove encouraged prosecutions against Democrats.
The committee decision is only a recommendation, and it was unclear whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., would allow a final vote. Rove has denied any involvement with Justice decisions, and the White House has said Congress has no authority to compel testimony from current and former advisers.

time for a showdown - bush and rove .v. all those voting for this nonsense - loser forfeits everything they own and go to the hoosegow for 15 years
these 9 percenters have held hundreds of ‘investigations’ since they got control of congress and have libby on perjury
time to stop this nonsense and place adults in charge
No, I think he said @$$, not grass. You are completely mistaken.
Meanwhile, Americans are paying $4.00/gal. for gas...
Good to see they’re concentrating on the things that really matter to the country. What exactly are we paying these people for, anyway?
Carl versus Nancy would be a whole new "Rove v. Knave"! ;-P
half are paying them to make them 'feel good'
the other half are paying taxes and looking elsewhere for 'feeling good'
We need to follow Rove’s lead and everyone start flipping off Washington.
fixed
100%...or dang close if their approval rating goes any lower!!
CNN is right now reporting that Barney Franks wants to legalize marijuana.
No, I think he said @$$, not grass. You are completely mistaken.
VERY GOOD G_B_C!
The Republicans made the Secret Service testify against Clinton. I knew that was a bad idea — what comes around goes around, so the Republicans have no grounds to complain.
I think they misquoted him. What he said was he wanted to "smoke a bone".
Rove is in good company. Ninety one percent of the electorate also holds Congress in contempt.
The secret service perform an entirely different function, CRAT. The secret service testified about their role in protecting the president, not advising him. Nobody forced any lawyer of adviser of Clinton to testify. Nor will any court force Rove to testify either. When secret service agents advise the president, then they are are protected too. Of course, they don’t. BIG difference.
agreed, I have nothing but CONTEMPT for 90% + of congress
Wow.
It's amazing what passes for professional writing. I'm surprised "had" wasn't "done" instead.
This is right up his alley. Barney Frank has been puffing on bongs for years.
Unless I really wanted to be there, I’d ignore a congressional subpoena. On the other hand, one wouldn’t be needed if I wanted to be there.
Rove can always do what the one WH lawyer aide did. She said she would invoke her 5th Amendment rights against self-incrimination even though she did nothing wrong. Lots of advantages to taking that position, including not having to hire an attorney.
