Oh, for the love of crumbcake, this is getting so creepy.
I have been saying for weeks that Jonah Goldberg's book Liberal Fascism has really helped my understanding of Barack Obama. I have pointed it out in three other posts:
Barack Obama is a 1920s-style fascist
Early 20th century "progressivism" has returned...
Barack Obama: I AM America
Every time I do, I think to myself, oh dear, this is going to sound overwrought. I do it anyways, because truth is truth, and the truth is that Barack Obama talks about himself and his plans in the same transcendent, populist, cult-of-personality terms as the fascists of the 20s and 30s.
And I don't want to sound like a broken record with Goldberg's book, but folks, he has done history a real service with it. He has pulled truths back into the light of day that, without his efforts, might have become irretrievably lost in the left's mists of revisionism. It informs our understanding of so much of our history . . . and it looks like it's going to be very helpful in understanding Barack Obama and what he might do with power.
"I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions."
Democrats are trying to defend this, but there's no hiding the man's arrogance and will to power.
If I were to be elected president, I would try to follow in the footsteps of Washington, to see myself as a citizen with the awesome responsibility and great privilege of leading this amazing nation.
One gets the impression that it is Obama who sees himself as the leader that America would be privileged to have.
If this guy gets any more full of himself he’ll explode.
I guess the ‘empty suit’ can officially be referred to as ‘full of sh**’ now.
Finster, a NooBee’s 1st response is to defend BO and then get slapped with the truth...not an auspicious beginning.
The BO Brownshirts just seem to be everywhere at once.
Laura Ingraham has been playing the “alls we can say is merci beaucoup” clip for weeks now and I could only find TWO quotes like that on google. MOST of the rest of them cleaned it up to “all we can say”. A few got it wrong and have it as “all we’s can say”.
Thus I put it in as my current tagline.
(and I saw the signup date and lack of posting history for the newbie...)
Oh, my goodness, I must have missed that completely.
When did the messiah say that?
He's a TRIP.
He said it in his speech when he said that kids should learn Spanish or at least a second language. He talked of how ignorant American tourists are when we go to Europe and “expect” (or find) everyone to speak English.
Of course, Barack Obama gave his speech to the German people in English...
Very cogently stated, and very astute. You’ve hit upon how that fundamental difference manifests itself in this situation.
The glory belongs not to me.
Thomas Sowell and his talent on loan from God are responsible for that post.
Sounds a bit like the president of iran.
You mean the second part of the quote is being purged from news stories?
Love Thomas Sowell! Love God!
But watch and see what happens in he is elected. There will be new found trust, respect, appreciation, and forgiveness for them then.
Barack Hussein Obama has proven, by these very associations that were willful and long term, and by his own voting positions in the IL and US Sentae, that he is a militant anti-American and an abject marxist.
It is disgusting and absolutely shameful that such an individual, with such shady and corrupt associations, and such an unbelievably leftist voting record is anywhere near a major nomination.
Yet, these are the days we live in and it falls to us to inform and educate others so the "Disassociator" can himself be wholly dissassociated.
Funny, the first time I read that statement, I knew it was Obama. Nobody is that arrogant in politics except for him.
The “full-quote”, which adds only faux-humble prelude, does not relieve Obama of responsibility for this breathtaking display of destiny and entitlement. It merely demonstrates that Obama’s speechwriters know there’s a limit to America’s gag reflex.
this statement scares the liveing daylights out of me for some reason. i don't care who said it. anyone running for president should never utter this phrase. it can be used to justify too many actions.
Now we call the 1930's the Great Depression.
