Energy crisis sees Pelosi run a tight ship

Energy and the price of a gallon of petrol will no doubt be at the forefront of Nancy Pelosi’s mind this week when – as is her routine – she travels in from her regular hair appointment in Georgetown to Capitol Hill in a convoy of two SUVs.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives has a tough task at hand before Congress begins its August recess: ensuring that Democratic legislators do not return home empty-handed, without any proof that they are taking action to tackle record petrol prices.

In the meantime, Republicans appear to be gaining traction in their call to expand offshore drilling – putting pressure on Ms Pelosi to keep her caucus unified, including conservative Democrats who might be tempted to side with the Republicans on that issue.

Steering the Democrats’ response to the energy crisis without alienating environmentalists or the struggling middle class could prove to be one of the biggest tests Ms Pelosi will face this year. Her record suggests that the speaker will respond to the challenge with astute political manoeuvring, showing once again that, though she is labelled a “San Francisco liberal”, the roots of her political education lie in the rough and tumble world of Baltimore, where her father was mayor.

Queen Nancy using our taxpayer money for her vanity.

Would this be the same political maneuvering that has resulted in the worst public approval ratings for the House of Representatives in recorded history???

The price on oil should be attacked from every angle. We can use every suggestion, but the strategic oil supply is for just that. We need to get the oil drilling done right now, and not later, and we need to look for other fuels for our own good. The future lies ahead.

Um since she doesn’t believe in drilling for oil, perhaps an organic recycled post-consumer cardboard box bus, with hemp wheels, would be more appropriate, afterall she could just do what Spongebob Squarepants did on one of the episodes using her IMAAAAGINAAATION.

Big D, I understand Texas is the number one producer of wind generated electricity in the U.S.A.

Do you know just how much is being produced out there?

I understand Texas turned down building about four coal fired plants in favor of wind.

She's running that ship right into the iceberg.

What is the cost of the Democrat "No Domestic Energy Policy?"

All of that puts the U.S. in a position that war for oil or
complete economic collapse will be our only choices.
You can't frustrate every source of domestic energy
without consequences. Our enemies will blackmail us
to the extent that we are vulnerable to blackmail.

Are the Democrats trying to force us into a real war for oil?

Yes

I also call on President Bush to hold congress in session over their political break to make sure Good energy legislation is passed before these dopes go home to run their mouths.

As Nancy and her cohorts dine on Rasberry Kiwi Torts, Chesepeake Rockfish with Sweet Potato Fennel, Cumin Scented Leg of Lamb with Almond Couscous, Pears with Stilton Cheese & Watercress.......garnished with bok choy, arugula and jicama.........we are told.......NO OIL DRILLING........NOT NOW, NOT NEVER.

My favorite Nancy quote:

“They should all ride the bus”

Reminiscent of Marie Antoinette and her “Let them eat cake” statement. One can only hope Nancy gets the Antoinette treatment.

Fortune magazine ran a recent article on the radical enviros who are now suing to stop a huge solar energy project in the Mojave Desert on account of the Mojave Desert Wood Rat and the Mojave Tortoise. This was a huge solar field, expected to generate enough electricity to supply California with 30% of their electric by 2011.
The ‘Rats won’t be happy until we are back to an early 19th century lifestyle.

I heard her say earlier in the week that no drilling bill would be allowed to be introduced. Then, heard an R representative say in the chamber that no drilling bill would be allowed. She is sinking the country and she can do it. The majority leader of the house and senate has too much power.

As that photo demonstrates, what’s tight about Nancy Pelosi is not her ship.

Take it easy on her.
She has to ride in a large vehicle.
Her head wouldn’t fit in anything else.

She is 2 heartbeats away from the Presidency. Her position and rank warrants her security.

Steering the Democrats’ response to the energy crisis without alienating environmentalists or the struggling middle class could prove to be one of the biggest tests Ms Pelosi will face this year.

This is the crux of Queen Nan's problem. The Dims have catered to the environmentalists for so long, any vote to drill will run them right to Nader.
