Radovan Karadzic is accused of the most heinous crimes against humanity, from the siege of Sarajevo to the Srebrenica massacre.
He is charged with having the blood of 20,000 lives on his hands and of bringing an entire country down by ethnic hatred.
Today relatives of the thousands of victims said they had been waiting for this moment of justice for 13 years.

Clinton was not alone in ordering the bombing of Serbian military targets, they were carried out and coordinated by American military personnel.
However, Serbia was warned ahead of time that its military and governmental buildings would be targeted as well as routes of military transportation. No Serb civilian was intentionally killed by US airstrikes - but the people in the mass grave at Crni Vrh who had their throats slit and their brains blown out were deliberately killed.

Dresden was also a military target, and the target of the US bombing was not civilians.

Again these were military targets that were bombed long after the Empire of Japan had been given the opportunity to surrender - an opportunity they rejected.

Generally one buries people in the ground. Which is exactly where 17,000 bodies have been found in Bosnia so far.
While there is plenty of room for 83,000 more, neither I nor the US government are claiming that there are that many more.
In this case, we are "the driver" and "the bloody car accident" are the Bosian war crimes. What we need to do is keep our eyes forward, while still acknowledging the car accident and praying for its victims.

The court's decision on Karadzic is a foregone conclusion, even though it would be like convicting a US president for what some of our soldiers in Iraq chose to do without orders from him .
