Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., tops Sen. Barack Obama as the choice for commander-in-chief of the U.S. military, an ABC-Washington Post poll indicated.
Seventy-two percent of respondents said McCain, the likely Republican presidential candidate, would be good commander-in-chief of the military. By contrast, 48 percent said Obama, McCain's likely Democratic challenger, would be a good commander-in-chief.

Obama lost his surge ..

Doesn’t this seem a bit odd, 72 percent for McCain, 48 percent for Obama-lama-ding-dong, equals 120 percent?!?!?
Oh sure, I believe this poll was conducted scientifically.

The Huffington Post reported it when a survey said that Obama has raised more money from military members than McCain - will they report this?

Two questions were asked. Would McCain make a good CiC? Would Obama make a good CiC?
Capiche?

It still doesn't make any damn sense.
ANY moron with the IQ of a house plant would say that McCain, based on his military experience alone would make a better Commander-in-Chief than Obama-lama-ding-dong.
Oh wait:
"The ABC-Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone July 10-13 among a national sample of 1,119 adults. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
So we are expected to believe that a total of 1,119 telephone calls were made over 3 days and that it represents an accurate view into what the American electorate is thinking?
This 'poll' and the story about it is a waste of bandwidth and totally meaningless.

They respect he didn’t leave his men when offered a chance to avoid torture. That speaks for his character. I might not agree on all his political positions, but I can’t argue with his character.

Is this the same ABC News/Washington Post poll that states:
Obama: 50%
McCain: 42%
Obama +1, McCain -3 since last poll on June 16.
Obama: considered better for the economy, the deficit and immigration.
McCain: considered more knowledgeable in world affairs, better prepared for military leadership and better able to handle an unexpected major crisis.
Dates conducted: July 10-13. Error margin: 3 points
Democrats are saying Repubs are demoralized, which will hinder our get out the vote. They are also bragging about the RECORD youth and black turnout for Obama in November. And that Obama will get a huge bounce after his upcoming foreign policy trip next week.
Our side shouldn't discount the youth vote for Obama in the swing states. They are trying to keep their youth numbers hush, hush.

Why are you adding the numbers together? The only thing that doesn’t make sense is that 48% think Obama could make a good Commander in Chief.
To: johnthebaptistmoore
72% to 48%=120%. This poll doesnt make any senseEach candidate was ranked on his suitability as CinC. It was not forced choice. Anyone could vote for both as "good" if they wanted. The absolute figures mean nothing except in relation to each other.
To: ameagle
Obama: considered better for the economy, the deficit and immigration. Since Obama has stated he doesn't mind increasing the deficit to "invest in American families" and McCain says we need to tackle it and bring it down, how can anyone think Obama would be better in reducing the deficit?
To: littlehouse36
I command you (infidels) to stop with these distracting polls.

That 120% was derived from all 57 states.
