Proves that the Brits are better at writing mystery novels a la Conan Doyle or Agatha Christie than actually solving real life cases. Clearly the man had mental issues completely unrelated to his domicile status.

About 20 years ago in Phoenix a guy did something similar with a circular saw in a pawnshop; I don’t think he actually cut his head off, but he did not survive the adventure.
