Obama Supporters on the Far Left Cry Foul By WILLIAM YARDLEY
PORTLAND, Ore. — In the breathless weeks before the Oregon presidential primary in May, Martha Shade did what thousands of other people here did: she registered as a Democrat so she could vote for Senator Barack Obama.
Now, however, after critics have accused Mr. Obama of shifting positions on issues like the war in Iraq, the Bush administration’s program of wiretapping without warrants, gun control and the death penalty — all in what some view as a shameless play to a general election audience — Ms. Shade said she planned to switch back to the Green Party.
“I’m disgusted with him,” said Ms. Shade, an artist. “I can’t even listen to him anymore. He had such an opportunity, but all this ‘audacity of hope’ stuff, it’s blah, blah, blah. For all the independents he’s going to gain, he’s going to lose a lot of progressives.”
Of course, that depends on how you define progressives.

I think Obama is playing the President Clinton strategy of being all things....to all people. That would have worked great in 1992 but most folks have wised up on this strategy. Presently, I’d guess that half of the Hillary crowd are gearing for a Denver meeting and expecting Obama to say alot to clear the air....but he won’t give them that pleasure. So I’d say half of the Hillary crowd will cross the line and vote McCain. If McCain were smart....he’d make numerous comments about the positives of a Hillary campaign and how she’d have been a tough opponent.

Obama Adopts “Bold New Approach” to Iraq War
In what the media are hailing as “an incredibly nuanced take on a very sticky problem,” Democratic presidential hopeful, Senator Obama announced a “bold new approach” for dealing with the war in Iraq.
Under Obama’s plan, he will “confer with the commanders-on-the-ground in Iraq to ensure a militarily sound strategy is followed.” At the same time, “performance benchmarks that the Iraqi government will be required to meet will be monitored.”
Erstwhile supporters of the Illinois senator expressed outrage at what they are calling a “sell-out.”
“Conferring with the Army brass and monitoring benchmarks are the Bush policies for this war,” complained Danner Kline, a self-identified staunch supporter of Obama. “Obama’s practically denouncing and rejecting every progressive voice in the country.”
Kline says that while he is disappointed in Obama’s turnabout, he will still vote for him “in the hope that he is just lying in order to get elected.”

What the lefties really want is a pure, undiluted election win based on their ideology so that they can feel popular. Lefties feel alienated and want to be the cool kids for a change.
When McCain wins in a landslide, they’re going to be suicidal. Heh ..heh...
