Why Black Republicans Support Obama
World Net Daily ^ | 07/07/08 | Jesse Lee Peterson

Recent comments by well-known black Republicans J.C. Watts and Armstrong Williams that they're conflicted about the upcoming presidential elections and are contemplating voting for Barack Obama have sent shock waves through the Republican Party.

I'm hearing many black Republicans echoing similar sentiments. They say that because of the historical significance of casting a vote for the first legitimate black presidential candidate, they may cross party lines. These statements don't surprise me.

As a whitey, people like you have my admiration. I do not know how I would react if most of the other whites were condemning me.

Good luck in your endeavors, may you be in heaven ten minutes before the devil knows you left earth.

So if Hillary had won the Democrat nomination, all republican women would be contemplating voting for her?

This is nothing but racially motivated.

Calvin Stephens, chairman of the African-American Republican Leadership Council in Texas, said that he's voting for Obama because this is a "black pride moment!"

The precedent of voting because of a "black pride moment" and "it's the black's turn" has been played out in New York City in 1988, where David Dinkins was barely elected over Rudolph Guiliani for mayor to become the first black mayor.

I'm going to make a very bold statement, but here it is:

In retrospect, that election of Dinkins cost the lives of 3,000 or more black residents of New York during the 4 years Dinkins was in charge. This all due to a spiraling murder rate and Dinkins and crew acting as enablers of the mayhem. If Guiliani were elected the first time, I have no doubt that the rate of 2,000 some odd murders a year would have been cut by at least half.

So the so-called "legacy" and "history" voting for a liberal/Marxist black politician has been played out already in NY, and I don't want to see it happen again on a national scale.

Thank you for your rational response. The color of a person’s skin does not qualify them for anything. Character, qualifications and experience, along with what a person believes and supports are the key to why anyone with a brain should vote for them.

It would be like going to a hospital and seeing a white guy in the lobby and saying to him: "I want you to perform open heart surgery on me because you are white." If I said that on national TV I would be rightly laughed to scorn! And yet, multitudes of people want to have Obamalama, a man with NO experience, NO qualifications and who has placed himself under the teaching of a black anti-American racist for over 20 years to become the leader of the greatest country on the face of the earth based solely upon the color of his skin! It is racist and reprehensible and those who vote this way are acting disgracefully.

“Calvin Stephens, chairman of the African-American Republican Leadership Council in Texas, said that he’s voting for Obama because this is a “black pride moment!”

I am not at all surprised at Calvin Stephens’ answer. Racial issues have become much more important to blacks than they have to whites.

I shall never vote for Obama, not because he is black, but because he will destroy this nation. Put Walther Williams or any other conservative black on the ticket and I’ll vote for him over McCain, any day. McCain is but a necessary evil in this particular time of our history.

**Why Black Republicans Support Obama**

This is beyond my understanding, unless it is only based on race.

Thank you. Honestly, I get used to the political isolation and it helps that I’ve been around liberals my whole life, so I can deal with it.

I really hate to say this.....BUT...putting myself in their shoes....

I'd liken this phenomenon of black republicans voting for Obama more to something like nationalism rather than racism. It's a pride thing, not a hate thing.

These black Republicans give me the opportunity to say something nice about Barak, when it came to confirming the first black Secretary of State, he voted his, imo incorrect, view of America's interests, and voted no to Condi.

Wow, take that J.C. Watts!
