Iraq : "the most spectacular victory of the War on Terror" London's Times says

American and Iraqi forces are driving Al-Qaeda in Iraq out of its last redoubt in the north of the country in the culmination of one of the most spectacular victories of the war on terror. After being forced from its strongholds in the west and centre of Iraq in the past two years, Al-Qaeda’s dwindling band of fighters has made a defiant “last stand” in the northern city of Mosul. A huge operation to crush the 1,200 fighters who remained from a terrorist force once estimated at more than 12,000 began on May 10. Operation Lion’s Roar, in which the Iraqi army combined forces with the Americans’ 3rd Armoured Cavalry Regiment, has already resulted in the death of Abu Khalaf, the Al-Qaeda leader, and the capture of more than 1,000 suspects.

“and the capture of more than 1,000 suspects.”

They were then immediately ushered to prisons in the US where each suspect was provided an attorney, daily press conferences, a prayer rug and nutritious Hala approved meals.

It doesn't matter. Too many in this country don't care about Islamism... they want to spend defense dollars on social programs. Most of these suckers will never see any of those dollars... instead, they will go to the drop-outs, dope addicts, perverts, illegals and drunks.

The new, ruling class!

The article has too many words; therefore The Sheep will not read it.

Besides, don’t you realize “Celebrity Dancing with the American Idols who Want To Be Millionaires on the next Oprah” is on?

Honestly...

Just out of curiosity, why the hell are the Kurds in Northern Iraq tolerating the presence of Al Queda in Mosul? I thought of all the Iraqi’s they were the ones who supported us the most?

Mosul’s not in Kurdistan.

Mosul is in the northwest corner of Iraq, but if you look at a map the border of Kurdistan passes just a bit east of Mosul — so the Kurds don’t have any control over Mosul.

Nah, these folks were captured by Iraqi troops. Maybe that’s one of the reasons we’re seeing less activity by al Queda. I’m thinking they’d much prefer to be captured by Americans, figuring they’d be better treated. Sucks to be them, don’t it?

I hope so.

But I fear that currently, with the prospect of President Obama,
the grand poobahs of Al Queda have probably hijacked a slogan from
one of W's campaigns:

Hang On, Help Is On The Way

I fear Obama is ready to pull out the stake that Dubya and Co.
planted into the cold, black heart of Al Queda.
