Appearing before Mexico's drug-fighting Federal Police, John McCain promised Thursday that as president, he would quickly implement a U.S. aid package to give the officers more helicopters, technology and training.
Mr. McCain, visiting the federal force's new command center as he concluded a three-day trip to Colombia and Mexico, paid his condolences to the hundreds of officers who have died in the drug fight since President Felipe Calderón took office 19 months ago.
Those deaths, Mr. McCain said, "will not be in vain."
"I want to thank President Calderón and the people of Mexico for their efforts in making our relations better," said Mr. McCain.....
Mr. McCain expressed support for the Merida Initiative, the $1.4 billion anti-crime package Congress passed last week.
"I look forward to implementing the Merida Initiative, and to work together to stem the flow of drugs from Colombia through Mexico and into the United States of America." he said.
Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, and Mr. Calderón held a private meeting earlier in the day.
Mr. McCain's support for comprehensive immigration reform has made him popular among ruling party officials here, along with his support for the North American Free Trade Agreement.......

How about the deaths of thousands of innocent children in this country at the hands of those same Mexicans, Mr. McCain. You sure forgot them, didn't you?
bttt
Ah, I feel a tad better now.
“”I want to thank President Calderón and the people of Mexico for their efforts in making our relations better,” said Mr. McCain.....”
??????
Why is McCain even travelling outside of the country?
Does he realize there is a Presidential campaign going on?
LOL.

Evidently he has his priorities, and the conservative base isn’t one of them.
Too bad he isn't promising that 1.4 Billion in technology, helicopters and new personnel to the BORDER PATROL.
Isn’t McShamesty running for president of Mexico? The way he panders to illegals and La Raza, I thought he was.
Why the heck are we giving money to Mexico?
A lot of these drugs has to be coming up from Colombia and Central America. The border between Mexico and Central America is quite small and ramping up their border patrol would help. But this could only work if no one in the government, military , or police are in the pockets of the cartels.
“Too bad he isn’t promising that 1.4 Billion in technology, helicopters and new personnel to the BORDER PATROL. “
Exactly. McCain’s priorities are all messed up. Or to some of our local counties fighting Mexican Drug cartels growing all over our national parks and forests. And don’t think for a minute that many of these fires isn’t just from that cause.

Third party candidates don’t want to fight the drug war because they are for legalizing drugs.
They are part of the problem
So where's John McCain? In Mexico.
Of what country does McCain intend to be President?
Re: Law of Supply and Demand.
How about we stop the demand here. We need to stop the medias from making drugs sound cool and trendy. Famous druggies should no longer be famous and should be shunned. Phonies in the media should be shunned who talk nonsense that marijuana is not really a drug. It is a gateway drug. We can’t stop only the supply but must deal with the demand also, in a realistic and severe manner.
Time to stop babying druggies. If people are so bent on destroying themselves while hurting families and friends, they should be given all the drugs they want but have to take them all at once. First they must tag and bag themselves because it is rude to have others have to deal with the corpse.
In exchange for cocaine , marijuana , heroin , meth , and easily exploitable labor in order to suppress wages for all people in the labor force .
Careful , you are walking right up to the edge of the libertarian abyss from which there is no return .
Actually, Mexico enforces its southern border a WHOLE lot better than the US does.
Let the Mexicons take some of their oil revenue and put it to use if they are really serious about stopping the drug wars. Which they aren't.
