The Trooprally's drive in heavy rain on the way to WR |
|
|
In a few weeks PrezUSA222 (Chad) will no longer be able to stand with us at Walter Reed on Friday nights. He's got new responsibilities. Responsibilities that will require 12 weeks of basic training, several months on job training, and then a probable tour in Free Iraq. Chad answered the call. He's in the Army now. We presented him with a plaque of a photo montage of most of the troop support signs we've used over the years. The montage is an original creation by iMacMan. |
After I geared up for the rain, it stopped. |

I think everyone would agree with me that Chad is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Chad, we're going to mess the heck out of ya.
Driving down to Walter Reed in heavy rain I was sure it was going to be a wet and soggy freep. But within a few minutes upon arriving the rain stopped, the weather changed for the better and stayed nice the remainder of the night. It was another typical night except around 8pm a man stopped to take pictures of us and our signs. TomTheRedHunter spoke with him briefly and this man told Tom he was a 9-11 WTC survivor. He said he had left the building about an hour before the planes flew into the towers. He returned to his office in one of the towers to alert his fellow office workers to get out of the building. He also told Tom that just as he was walking away from the building it began to collapse. A piece of the building struck and killed a man that was just a few feet away. Lots of good responses from passersby. But every now and then there'd be a car stopped for the red like and a driver or passenger would yell, "Bring 'em home now!" I'd yell back, "OSAMA YOUR MOMMA!"
Honor roll: BufordP, CindyTrueSupporter,Fraxinus,kburi, Lurker Bill, PrezUSA222 (and pal Mike), RonGKirby, Satin_patriot, TomTheRedHunter, [Mr and Mrs] Trooprally, USNRetired, VAFlagWaver, VictoryNY
If you can't get to D.C. to join us but would like to do something for the wounded, you can find a wealth of ideas by FReepmailing Tom the Redhunter, Cindy-True-Supporter, VAFlagwaver, or PleaDeal. Come join us every Friday night between the hours of 6:30pm to approx 9:30pm. Directions to our Walter Reed freep location from the Takoma metro station BufordP's Walter Reed FReep archive Tom the Redhunter's blog PleaDeal's (GunnNutt) blog at Semper Gratus
You have men (and women) like Chad who appreciate the blessings of liberty bestowed on us by our founding fathers and the work that is required to maintain that freedom. Then you have what I like to call freedom's parasites... |

The article posting routine injected an additional superfluous table column into my HTML which messed up my formatting. It's easy to find. You can do a search for the following lines:
<td>
<p>
</td>
<td align="right">
If you remove:
<td>
<p>
</td>
that will fix it.
Please and thanks in advance.

I try to get everyone to do that instead of trying to think of something on the spot. Quick and easy. Usually shuts 'em right up. It's that or "LOSER"!
There was one woman (front seat passenger) trying to yell about Bush's war, bring 'em home, yadayada. She was yelling from the other side of the car through her husband's (driver) open window. When I started yelling he started laughing.

Real good report, Thanks.
Thanks especially for honoring Chad.
Chad had a busy weekend. He also went to Olney's and Westminster's FReep on Saturday.

Yelling "OSAMA YOUR MOMMA!" in your rain gear must have drove the lefties batty.
