To start off, as many of you have already read, Obama threw Wes Clark, if not under the bus, at least into the bumper
"As he's said many times before, Senator Obama honors and respects Senator McCain's service, and of course he rejects yesterday's statement by General Clark," said Obama campaign spokeman Bill Burton.
Is this what the Hope 'n Change xPress will bring us throughout the campaign? Some Obama supporter comes out, says something nasty, gets the talking point out there for all to see, then Obama, who really needs to wash the blood and gore off his bus at this time, runs them over, then reaps the benefit of the nastiness while attempting to keep his hands clean? Democrats do not seem to want to blame Obama at all, yet blamed Bush for the actions of a few low level military members at a prison in Iraq.

There are many important issues in this Presidential election, clearly one of the most important issues is national security and keeping the American people safe. In my opinion, protecting the American people is the most important duty of our next President. I have made comments in the past about John McCain's service and I want to reiterate them in order be crystal clear. As I have said before I honor John McCain's service as a prisoner of war and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in Armed Forces as a prisoner of war. I would never dishonor the service of someone who chose to wear the uniform for our nation.
John McCain is running his campaign on his experience and how his experience would benefit him and our nation as President. That experience shows courage and commitment to our country - but it doesn't include executive experience wrestling with national policy or go-to-war decisions. And in this area his judgment has been flawed - he not only supported going into a war we didn't have to fight in Iraq, but has time and again undervalued other, non-military elements of national power that must be used effectively to protect America But as an American and former military officer I will not back down if I believe someone doesn't have sound judgment when it comes to our nation's most critical issues.
Now, let's look seriously at the issue. Does being in the military and being a POW give McCain "executive ability?" No. Not by itself. He sure doesn't have the experience like some others who almost started World War III with the Russians. But, you add that to his long service in government, and it certainly gives him a hell of a lot more then Senator Neophyte, who, according to Wes Clark, is not ready, because he has no experience wrestling with national policy or go-to-war decisions. Funny how that works, eh?
Now, as pointed out in the comments, the Democrats thought John Kerry's 4 months in Vietnam was enough to give him executive ability. But McCain's doesn't. What I want in a president is someone who will lead, who has vision, knows how to work with others, and looks mostly toward what is best for the people, not what they think is best for the people.

Dole, the 1996 Republican presidential nominee, said that Clark's statement was "beyond comprehension" and his "absurd remarks signal further erosion in our nation's political discourse. He should have stayed in bed Sunday morning.
"It's unfortunate that a former general who ran for the presidency on his own war record thinks it appropriate to attack a distinguished veteran and former prisoner-of-war in this way. Sen. McCain's entire life has been devoted to public service. His achievement and experience constitute unparalleled qualification for America's highest office."
He has shown by his zeal and gloating over bombing Christians who were all too familiar with Muslims what he is all about.
The dirty war in which we killed civilians in Bill Clinton’s name and the media thought it was all well and good.
Some of the very Bozzies we saved are now in Stan and Iraq killing our lads in appreciation of our efforts creating a greater Albania.

The Obamanation campaign has a big ZERO of a totally unqualified Marxist they are trying to pass off as a Commander-in-Chief....(sound of barf hitting keyboard)...and since they cannot sell an empty container, they must tear down McCain.
This effort, especially be the total loser Clark (basically fired by Clinton), is TOTALLY TRANSPARENT.

Good Post. Weasly Clark is so predictive, and to be a General Officer must have been a Clintoon plan from the start to discredit the military. The man is a disgrace to the uniform and maybe McPeak should take notice.

Two months later it was announced that he would be replaced as Supreme Allied Commander earlier than expected. When Clark announced that he would be standing as a candidate for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, Shelton said, in a public forum, that Clark being short-toured "had to do with integrity and character issues", adding: "Wes won't get my vote."
So let me get this straight...
- Naval aviator for 23 years
- Navy’s liason to the US Senate
- Offered a rear admiral position but turned it down to retire and run for politics
- 6 years as a US Representative
- 20 years as a US Senator
- Chairing the Senate Commerce Committee
That’s not enough qualifications to be President.
But apparently for ol’ Wes his 38 years exclusively in the Army - from which he was asked to resign - is plenty of experience to qualify for a Presidential run.
Got it.
While not a big McCain fan, there is one thing I think should unite FReepers...his service and time as a POW. Nobody on the Loser Liberal side can claim those credentials.
Osamabama has NO experience in “executive” positions or making command war decisions...there are very few people who get to make those types of calls in their lifetimes.
Whatever beefs we all have with McCain here on FR, we should unite behind him when he’s attacked on these military points...

Wesley Clark would have to follow a very demanding 10 year regimen of study and effort to reach the level of moron. As it is he is a jibbering imbecile. He once said this country was founded on the principal of progressive taxation. Yeah, sure Wesley, you poor imbecile.
The guy is a bought and paid for political lackey...and there is no way that he spoke on his own. It was all coordinated to try and equate Obama's experience to McCain and to try and allow Obama to take the high road while doing so.
As I said, I will not besmirch the term "patriot" with the likes of BArack Hussein Obama who is an anti-American marxist.
Can anyone tell me the end game here? The only way this games out it to blow up in Obama’s face.

Eapecially when you compare to Obama:
-a few years as a Chicago "Community Organizer" (or "Disorganizer, if you read today's Boston Globe)
-Defender of Chicago SlumLords
-Part-Time Law lecturer
-Eight years in the Illinois Senate setting up land deals for SlumLords and fighting for radical abortion rights.
-143 days as a US Senator before becoming a Full-Time Presidential Candidate.
My best guess....He’s working for Hillary. Obama’s experience isn’t even comparable to McCain’s.
I am more to the thinking that, starting with Wright, each of these events were choreographed...with his friends in the loop.
McCain's strongest hand is his military service. When it comes to National Security it makes him damn near bullet proof. National Security is one of Obama's weaknesses. Obama's goal is to marginalize that service and experience in order to gain blue collar voters. Even though they may support the military but have never served themselves.
The blow-back will come from vets who will see this as attempt by Democrats to consider military service as insignificant. Thus not worth honoring.
As opposed to a General who bombed a Turd World Country deeper into the Stone-age to keep his President’s Whore off the Front Page. Yeah, that’s leadership material.
