(FBI Director) Mueller: Gun Ruling A Hazard For Colleges
WMUR ^ | July 1, 2008

Posted on 07/01/2008 6:03:09 PM PDT by xjcsa

HARTFORD, Conn. -- The director of the FBI is not happy with the Supreme Court's recent handgun ruling.

Robert Mueller said he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."

Mueller said the high court's decision, which threw out a handgun ban in Washington, D.C., "does throw a lot of things up in the air."

Last week, the Supreme Court struck down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns by a 5-4 vote. It was the first major pronouncement on gun rights in history.

Mueller said communities now will have to decide their own licensing programs.

Mueller spoke Monday at a convention of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in Hartford, Conn.

He said with his grandchildren going to college, he hopes "those campuses will be weapons-free."

He said college campuses and small communities could be "potential incubators of terrorism" even while major cities such as New York and Los Angeles remain primary targets for terrorists.

Damned, yarddog. My stock in “The Dress Barn” just tanked after your posting.

Thanks for the truth.

Even today most people think it is true and no one in the media will tell the truth.

Sorry, dude. I think it probably was the truth and the Soviets merely took advantage of it.

The reason? Clyde Tolson. Hoover and Tolson ate dinner together every night, went on vacations together, Tolson was the sole beneficiary in Hoover's will, inheriting $550,000 and Hoover's home. He also was "the loved one" who accepted the US flag from Hoover's casket during the burial service.

If that ain't queer, I have some desert property in Des Moines to sell you.

He’s got a vest on, which doesn’t look like it has armor in it; I can’t see any MP5 mag pouches; he’s got a pen-thickness scope mounted on it, flashlight, magclamp; and his balaclava is covering his eyes.

I’d rather go in alone that have this ya-hoo cover my six.

Sounds like they took you in too. Nothing at all wrong with having a close friend.

If I have an MP5 in my hands, I’d like the full Happy Switch.

Another RINO Bush appointee coming out of the closet. Just wait and see, this guy will drop a dime on the President just as sure as Scott McClellan did. You read it here first.

Looks like Gumby with the sides of his head filed off. Bet old Tubby there could make the hundred dash in about two hours if he had a defibrillator and rode in a mule and cart.

You can’t get a lot less informed than this ostensible “professional.” First, the judgment specifically referenced not affecting gun regulation on school campuses. Second, criminals don’t follow them anyway, only honest people do. And third, stating that firearms are “more likely than not” to harm their owners is ludicrous, the sort of speech uttered by someone for whom the words don’t actually have any real meaning. If they did, of the 90 million (at least) firearms owners in the U.S. we’d have 45 million injured by firearms. Not even Sarah Brady on her most mendacious day would care to claim that piece of pure malarkey.

Are Lonnie Horiuchi and Richie Rogers, the Fibbie’s pet hitters, still hiding at FBI Quantico? If they are, the Mueller can jam it with a half-twist to the right...

Boy, I'll bet THAT gave 'em the warm fuzzies for you...

I’m pretty sure it’s selective fire, so you could have it and be happy.

I think he has his body armor under the coat—why, I don’t know, but unless he has an unnaturally small head, it looks like he’s wearing some sort of thick torso-covering garment underneath his jacket.

As for the mag pouches, I think that might be what the horizontal pouches on the vest are for. In any event, at least he has two mags clipped together. It’s not like you need a whole lot of ammo/mags to terrorize innoncents (kidding!). However, I can’t imagine that the type of operations the ATF seems to pull (quick raids) would need as much ammo as say a defensive situation.

I can’t comment on the balaclava. I’ve always associated LEOs who wore those with the 3rd world or an otherwise corrupt police force. I seriously doubt he’s wearing it because of the cold.

And many people wonder why the distrust for ALL law enforcement is coming from??

Maybe it is the contempt for us. They want us all disarmed and good little sheep.

My guns are safer than the FBI's tanks and offensive gas insertion techniques.

Remember the Alamo, 9-11, and f'ing WACO.

It's EXACTLY the type of arrogant, elitist, jack-booted thug scumbags like mueller that make it necessary for we citizens to be armed.

And he wants NY to be defenseless against them?

Fire him, he doesn't like the Constitution.

No kidding.

Stalin pushed the same mantra. "What is good for the government is good for the people" type crap.

Mueller clearly does not trust Americans, and he is a complete and total contradiction to the defense of innocent life.

Hey Mueller:

"Armed citizens are less likely to shoot a woman with a baby in their arms than the FBI."

Forgive me if I'm mistaken here, but if you are referring to Ruby Ridge was that not the ATF that was responsible for that? And I don't believe the ATF is under the FBI but the department of Justice so while Mueller is an idiot for saying this, he has no control over the jack booted thug organization called the ATF.
