(FBI Director) Mueller: Gun Ruling A Hazard For Colleges
WMUR ^ | July 1, 2008

Posted on 07/01/2008 6:03:09 PM PDT by xjcsa

HARTFORD, Conn. -- The director of the FBI is not happy with the Supreme Court's recent handgun ruling.

Robert Mueller said he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."

Mueller said the high court's decision, which threw out a handgun ban in Washington, D.C., "does throw a lot of things up in the air."

Last week, the Supreme Court struck down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns by a 5-4 vote. It was the first major pronouncement on gun rights in history.

Mueller said communities now will have to decide their own licensing programs.

Mueller spoke Monday at a convention of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in Hartford, Conn.

He said with his grandchildren going to college, he hopes "those campuses will be weapons-free."

He said college campuses and small communities could be "potential incubators of terrorism" even while major cities such as New York and Los Angeles remain primary targets for terrorists.

If he really believes that weapons usually "harm the people carrying them," I'm sure he'll be disarming all of the FBI's agents any day now, right?

Too stupid to be FBI Director. Fire him immediately! He’s a threat to every law abiding citizen.

Hey, Bob - if you think Americans are clumsy around guns, set an example and disarm all your own agents first! Then you can talk about how guns would harm those carry them.

What the hell is he talking about?

It’s all handwringing gobbletygook. I am glad to see we have a bleeding heart running the FBI.

Armed citizens are less likely to shoot a woman with a baby in their arms than the FBI.

When I get my own personal bodyguard assigned to me by the gubbmint I might not feel the need to go armed.

The fools, bunglers, and idiots of the FBI did such a good job of protecting us from 9/11 that I feel safer providing my own security, thank you Mr. Mueller you bureaucratic boob you.

Virginia Tech was a gun free campus.

How many gun laws was that dude in violation of, before he even started his massacre?

How many gun laws were the Columbine guys in violation of, even before any shooting took place?

Of course we have laws on the books to tell us all what is right and what is wrong, but, is there any evidence that the criminal element pays attention to gun laws when they decide to use a gun in a crime????

I'd like to see him say that to the men and women of the armed forces.

It sure will make it easier to burn women and children alive if their men are disarmed.

He's the face of the FBI.

Anybody that thinks law enforcement will "defend" citizens when or if a totalitarian government comes into power is fooling themselves.

What a mealy mouthed bureaucrat.

How 'bout this. Train your snipers not to kill innocent women or burn families alive when you could easily arrest somebody.

Robert Mueller said he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."

Include intentional, deliberate suicides and he may have a point.

Of course, one could make a similar point about high-rise buildings and jumpers....

Does anyone remember when we all liked and trusted the FBI? Now that I think about it, it has been a long time.

“college campuses and small communities could be “potential incubators of terrorism”

Director Mueller must have received his copy of Chairman Obama’s talking points. “small communities” are hotbeds of “clingers.” Clinging to their religion and their guns. Small communities are a danger to the big cities according to the Director of the FBI. He must have some crime statistics not released to the public.

Good point. Former FBI director Louis Freeh, while a nice guy, said that the law professor he liked the most was old communist Arthur Kinoy (Rutgers Un.) Kinoy’s whole life as a professor and lawyer (Center for Constitional Rights, National Lawyers Guild), has been dedicated to destroying America. That was the intention of his constitutional law courses, to teach the leftists how to undermine and disarm America.

Now Mueller makes a fool out of himself.

I’ll take old J. Edgar Hoover, dress or no dress.

G-Men!- In the old days - stood for law enforcement.
Today, under Mueller, G-Men stands for “girlymen”.

That guy looks like an executioner, except that his face mask is covering his eyes. Hence the term “spray and pray.”
