We Swedes wish to honor:

True Swedes - like I - love America.
Yes, we are Europeans and you are Americans. Often, we insult each other, by employing various methods.
Yet, you are our sisters'N'brothers and nothing will ever change tHAT.
I would give my life up for America. The US is a nation which believes in true freedom. This idea will conquer the world.
If only our masters did.
Thanks for your post!
What a nice article. Thanks for sharing it.
The US is a nation which believes in true freedom.
The US is a nation which use to believe in true freedom. Because of globalism we are fast becoming a third world nation. Thanks to the leftist liberal politicians, and egocentric corporate executive officers.
What a lovely tribute to the restored vessel U.S.S. Cole - thank you Chainsaw.
People: Don’t give up hope because politicians are on the rampage for top spots in the money game - while wasting all of ours on nations who would kill us if given the opportunity.
The basic idealism and foresight are still here, the majority of us still contributing, still hoping the dream is alive and functioning regardless of what the egomaniacs are doing with our devotion.
Don’t give up ever. There is more power with the people than we realize.
Thank you for your article. There are many of us who believe as you say. We appreciate your good wishes.
Error correction - I address the wrong contributor for this topic - should have thanked Western Culture.
Apology.
Gamla Stad (old part of Stockholm) is even better viewed at eye level. In the Summer.
Thank for the post!
What a gorgeous scene!!
I'm a little embarrassed by the open view of weapons, it's insulting for one. It's not as if Sweden is Yemen, a cultural light year away. Second, it reminds me of the cultural mental inflexibility of the US. In the Navy's previous case of
‘repelling boarders’ with fire hoses. Post Cole and commons sense kind of finished off that PC idiocy. But adapting guard protocols would require flexibility, thinking, and responsibility, something bureaucracies mostly punish and fail to reward, by and large, over time with the usual result.
I think the notion of freedom has been long around even before the Greeks. It is human nature not to be in slavery to another, at your cost, and their benefit.
The US is not, and has not ever been a truly ‘free’ nation. Almost all laws are laws of restriction of action. Every year there are more laws, which make what last year you were free to do, illegal. Next year there will be more laws making what you could do this year illegal.
Anyways, thanks for the nice sentiments.

Especially since we still have our guns. I certainly hope we never have to use them in a particular way, but if we do, we have them and we're ready.
Our country was born in outraged reaction to a gun grab by the British. Much later the British were very glad we were around, free and with our guns.
Hitler felt otherwise because he wanted to do things to us that he couldn't do while we remained armed. I always wonder what it is that the egomaniacs want to do if only they could disarm us. We must never let that happen.
Thanks for the post-Great pictures of the Cole at your link.
What a lovely and deeply appreciated expression of heartfelt sentiment. Thank you.
TAK!!!
Excellent, thanks. The USS Cole was built and repaired not 20 miles from my home.
Some days when I think of all that has happened since the middle east has become so paramount in our lives, I wonder if we the people can be rebuilt as quickly and beautifully as the U.S.S. Cole as shown here. There are influences who seek to divide us, to break us, to see our failures as an example to all those who admire western thought and forward motion, inviting success and the good life for everyone.
How many times have you read or heard: The United States is doomed, on its last legs, having its last hours.
Not by a long shot - and those who believe it don’t know us.
This nation born in blood has always been tested and yet people from all over the globe continue to seek out our freedoms - our rights - our way of life - whether we are in trouble or in success.
When we are at our lowest we must remember we rise to challenge so well and in so meeting adversity we become stronger for it and strangely - more united.
This year - the challenge is perhaps one of the greatest importance to our future as a free nation. Those who make the decisions for us must be on the side of the people who reside here and pay for the decisions made - we must be vigilant in monitoring what is being carried out in our very best interests.
True spirit.
It exists everywhere.
