Today is the day.
The folks at SCOTUS blog will be providing a live blog to follow developments as quickly as possible.
If it says, “Affirmed”, break out the champagne...
Fine, it's time we stood up against these effing traitors and remind them who is in charge.
LOL, see post 149 :)

GREAT tagline ;)
Truly amazed at the power the SC has. Not a good thing...
Here we go...
Ben Winograd -
The Court has released the opinion in Davis v. Federal Election Commission (07-320), on whether the so-called Millionaires Amendment to campaign finance laws, which relaxes campaign finance limits for opponents of congressional candidates spending more than $350,000 of their own money, violates either the First or Fifth Amendments. The ruling below, which upheld the law, is reversed and remanded.
Justice Alito wrote the opinion. Justice Stevens dissented in part, joined by Justices Souter, Ginsburg and Breyer. We will provide a link to the decision as soon as it is available.
It’s very sad. Something needs to be done.

10:02 Tom Goldstein - This means the millionaire amendment is invalidated 5-4 on an ideological vote — i.e., left/right. The next opinion will be a few minutes away as the Justice Alito reads a summary of his opinion (and potentially a Justice reads from a dissent).
A few minutes yet for Heller, as summaries of other cases are read.

The butterflies in my stomach aren’t disabled, though ;)
First, Davis v. FEC (campaign finance) reversed 5-4, Alito for the Court, Stevens dissent.
OK: I’ve got a contingency plan.
If it’s good news, I’m going to buy a new gun to celebrate.
If it’s bad news, I’m going to buy a new gun before new restrictions are imposed.
The Honorable,
the Chief Justice and the Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States. Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! All persons having business before the Honorable, the Supreme Court of the United States, are admonished to draw near and give their attention, for the Court is now sitting. God save the United States and this Honorable Court!
-Traditional opening chant of the Officer of the Supreme Court
Sounds like the FCC case went our way.
