This is NOT an exerpt but a synopsis. AP should have no quibble
This article details how Senator John McCain, in a secret meeting with Hispanic leaders in Chicago, double talked to them. He said on thing to them, but according to a very conservative Rafael Rivadeneira, a vice chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Illinois, he says one thing to Hispanics at a meeting like this one, but says something totally different to white conservatives.
The implication: he is a liar. No one really knows what he believes.
The main thing is that he reverse his position on “shamnesty” and support real border control. Finish the fence.
“You’re on!”
Saw you on Lou Dobbs last night. Great job!
McCaine is my liar and will vote for him instead of the Democrat liar.
At least McCain is not a socialist. I heard his wife had to help him off the airplane. God help us! He’s nearly invisible.
get that fence done ASAP.
fence’;s don’t work , so why has Israels working, why has where the fence has been built it is working and why does my fence keep out my neighbours kids and dogs
yes fences work Mc Cain
you were sent a message by the American public, as for Obama and the Dems well they won’t even stop illegals voting actually they go to court to have them vote
same here I am no fan of Mc Cain but it’s down to Barack Obama the radical terrorist lover(bill ayers) baby killer , gay marriage, anti American , anti white racist, increase taxes, no drilling and maybe give blacks reperations then I will have to choose McCain.
quick thought why has no one asked Barack Obama about reperations, along with many other questions, no wonder he does not want a town hall debate and where is the outcry from the media
silly men the media are campaigning for him
Barack Obama the medias darling
The GOP base will be burning those bridges faster than he can build them.
Yes, like all pols, McLame is doing/saying what is politically expedient.
That said, if you (or anyone) believes he will enforce border security (absent his pet project, "comprehensive reform") well I've a nice (slightly used) bridge I'd like to sell.
The same might be said for his commitment to nominate strict constructionist to the SCOTUS.
Will McCain meet with white leaders?
He can meet with the congressional white caucus
< /s >
You want pain and taxes? Vote Obama
McCain can have the Mexican vote. I’m still waiting for a conservative.
Since, with the exception of a handful of Cubans, there are no black, brown, or yellow republicans, we usually classify the House Republican Caucus and the Senate Republican Caucus as both being a white caucus.
I think a LOT more needs to be made of the fact that Senator Obama seems VERY afraid of a town hall debate forum. Maybe a commercial with Baby Alex’s father holding, The Dangerous Book for Boys, questioning the poor example this may give his son? ;-)
the republican party are really slow they should have been making AD’S about this and how Obama the media messiah is running away from questions and how he prefers just giving speeches which are wrote for him
what has he got to hide and be scared of .
He wants to talk to our enemies with no preconditions yet can’t take a question from an American citizen
are we not good enough to question his messiah or is he scared that he won’t be scripted
*snicker*
Ronald Reagan -in his own words.
“When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn’t like it.
“Compromise” was a dirty word to them and they wouldn’t face the fact that we couldn’t get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don’t get it all, some said, don’t take anything.
“I’d learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: ‘I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.’
“If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that’s what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.
Please bear in mind that as governor of California, in 1968, RR had signed the most liberal abortion law and the most restrictive gun law in the country. If FreeRepublic had been around in 1976 during his first run for the nomination, I am sure many of us would have bashed him as a “liberal”..
Politics is the art of the possible. McCain has an understanding of that...while I was pround to cast my first presidential vote for RR....I will have to do my duty toward McCain.
I started voting in 1972 but campaigned with my dad for Barry Goldwater in 1964. Compromise is politics - I’m used to it. But you don’t compromise on certain basic principles and one of those is keeping the law. When the law becomes irrelevant then the nation falls to pieces.
Governments that do not follow their own laws are governments asking for a revolution. Do you disagree with that? And if so, why?
“Do you disagree with that? And if so, why?....”
No. But if the government is not following the law, then you and I have our work cut out for us. Because it is our government...and we neglect our civic responsibilities when we don’t call out government when it is wrong. A Democrat in the White House plus both Houses of Congress will have the latitude to merely change the law whenever its convenient. And when they give the District of Columbia 2 senators, expand the Supreme Court to 12 judges....all to the left of Maxine Waters, and criminlaize dissent.....we’ll never turn back without blood.
