Man accidentally kills himself while trying to rob a Grand Prairie home

A 19-year-old man accidentally shot and killed himself Tuesday morning while he was attempting to rob a Grand Prairie home, authorities said.

Cameron Sands, 19, of Fort Worth kicked in the door of the house and then shot himself in the stomach as he pulled a gun out of his pants to shoot the homeowner, Grand Prairie police said. The homeowner was not injured.

I hate to say this, but other than the damaged door and the cleanup costs, I’m not seeing a downside here.

This is what comes from getting your firearms training from TV and the movies.

If he'd managed to draw the gun without killing himself he probably would have held the gun sideways, thus assuring he could not hit the broad side of Michelle My Belle.

Retrieve from the belongings of the perp (including the gun) the funds to replace the door and repair any other damage, and everything is close to perfect here.
