Angered by soaring fuel prices, Europeans are protesting and taking a toll on consumers and companies by creating food stores shortages, lighting highways in the death of two people in Spain and Portugal.
Amid warnings at the price of oil could sort of perhaps $250 a barrel within 18 months, EU officials plan to meet next week to consider solution to surging food and fuel costs.
Adam McCarthy says he now spends nearly 60, or about $93, to fill up his Volvo, and he expects protests to continue across to Europe as drivers become increasingly frustrated.

I don't see $250 a barrel. There will be a world wide riot first.

If gas gets a whole lot higher, the Europeans are going to want Uncle Sam to invade someplace like Iraq and take all their oil.

f gas gets a whole lot higher, the Europeans are going to want Uncle Sam to invade someplace like Iraq and take all their oil. ....and they might even want us to actually drill for some of the untapped oil we're sitting on.

Gee I thought Europeans liked to pay higher prices. We have been lectured for years that gas is more expensive in Europe due to taxes, and that while they pay higher taxes, they have better public transportation, and more gov’t services, and young mothers get family leave, yadda, yadda, yadda.
I’m surprised anyone in a socialist paradise would be upset about these higher prices.

Break up the OPEC cartel, by force if necessary. These petty dictators have their foot on the neck of the Western economies. Its time to correct that situation.

"If gas gets a whole lot higher, the Europeans are going to want Uncle Sam to invade someplace like Iraq and take all their oil." Once again President Bush's vision out smarts the Euro-socialists as we buddy up with oil rich Iraq...

This is really out of control. These speculators who are so desperately trying to get Obama elected are threatening to wreck the entire world economy. They need to be shut down, and I mean pronto.

Kick their *** and take the gas. Every man for himself. Or in this case, every country for itself. (Sorry, Europe. You lose to America again.))

There now, fixed

Now, I relish a good street fight as much as the next guy, but we don’t need to start kicking muzzie butt for oil, as long as we have PROVEN reserves in the US that could shut down their economic blackmail, immediately.
Rather than spend more blood in the middle East, I’d rather see us kick some LibTards out of the Senate and the House, open up drilling in the US, add refinery capacity, and start serious R&D into alternative energy solutions.
Once we render OPEC impotent on the financial front, we won’t be supporting both sides of the WOT, either. Let them eat their oil. We won’t even need to send them food...

I don't see $250 a barrel. There will be a world wide riot first. I read where strategic planners around the world are planning for $225/bbl oil within the next 24 months..........
