The President and First Lady were in France this morning and attended the morning service at the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris.
The First Lady visited the Marie Antoinette Exhibit at The Grand Palais.
Later in the day AF1 flew into Heathrow where Marine One took them on what is about a 10 minute flight to Windsor Castle where they landed on the East Lawn where they had tea with the Queen and Prince Philip. According to FNC George W Bush is only the second President to have been afforded the honour of an invite to Windsor Castle the other being Ronald Reagan.
After tea they toured the St. George's Hall at Windsor Castle with the Queen and Prince Philip.
They then flew back to London to the US Ambassador official residence where they will be spending the night before attending a social dinner at 10 Downing Street, amongst the guests tonight are the British Foreign Secretary and Rupert Murdoch.
The menu tonight was:-
Starter - Salmon
Main Course - Roast Beef
Dessert - Summer Fruits Trifle
The President is due to have a breakfast meeting with Tony Blair tomorrow followed by a meeting with the Prime Minister and he will be flying to Belfast for his last venue on what is being billed as the President's farewell trip to Europe.
Pray for President Bush -- Day 2832
These months are going to rush by and there will be times of sadness when we see the Presidency coming to an end but tempered by that he will soon be getting that time of rest he so dearly deserves.
Just curious, Snugs, I seem to remember right after the Queen’s visit to the United States reading that the President did not like her! Wonder if you have heard that, and if so what might be behind that. I cannot imagine him saying that....just doesn’t sound like him.
Also there is TV footage of fire at Windsor castle and Prince Andrew being one of the people co-ordinating the rescue of the precious artifacts that the people of Windsor pitched in with to assist. I believe Andrew personally saved many items that day.
Glad you like it.
It's nice to see they restored the arms and legs to the suit of armor of the dreaded Black Knight :o)
My pleasure
Wonderful! Thank you for the time spent in putting this England Dose together for us.
That is a great photo - thanks for posting it shame they cut the top of his head off though.
Only the best for dosers LOL.
If anything I think she has been rather amused at a couple of the slip ups that the President has made even if at the time the smile may have seemed a little false but that is probably due a to life time of training not to show your feelings.
I feel today there seemed a genuine warmness and the fact he was invited to Windsor indicated that it is more than just a cordial relationship. She could have easily have not invited him to the Castle and people would have thought very little about him just visiting London and not seeing her as she was not in residence.
Love the toaster snugs - thank you.
BTW, who is St. George? King George I know, but St. George?

Looking at this info I found out this info which I was not aware apart from Georgia.
“””St George is patron saint not only of England but also of Aragon, Catalonia, Georgia, Lithuania, Palestine and Portugal amongst others, although he is celebrated on different days.””””
Aah .. you’re right .. :)
snugs, thank you for this absolutely wonderful Dose!
I agree with you......looking at the pictures of President Bush and Laura with the Queen, it does seem like they were relaxed and friendly.
