The President and First Lady were in France this morning and attended the morning service at the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris.
The First Lady visited the Marie Antoinette Exhibit at The Grand Palais.
Later in the day AF1 flew into Heathrow where Marine One took them on what is about a 10 minute flight to Windsor Castle where they landed on the East Lawn where they had tea with the Queen and Prince Philip. According to FNC George W Bush is only the second President to have been afforded the honour of an invite to Windsor Castle the other being Ronald Reagan.
After tea they toured the St. George's Hall at Windsor Castle with the Queen and Prince Philip.
They then flew back to London to the US Ambassador official residence where they will be spending the night before attending a social dinner at 10 Downing Street, amongst the guests tonight are the British Foreign Secretary and Rupert Murdoch.
The menu tonight was:-
Starter - Salmon
Main Course - Roast Beef
Dessert - Summer Fruits Trifle
The President is due to have a breakfast meeting with Tony Blair tomorrow followed by a meeting with the Prime Minister and he will be flying to Belfast for his last venue on what is being billed as the President's farewell trip to Europe.
Pray for President Bush -- Day 2832
You certainly deserve it
Thank you Snugs, for all the lovely pictures of the most lovely couple! She always dresses so beautiful and he is always his handsome self! I will miss seeing this wonderful couple daily, come next January.........I’m already sad!
Thank you for posting this wonderful thread!
the queen carries her purse around in her own ‘home’? And I’m very glad I don’t have to vacuum that room!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had the same before an after reactions to the movie. Of course, I’m old enough to remember her before she married, so knew she is a solid person.
The problem is that most judge people without really knowing what they are really about - this is especially true when judging older people - there are many people who have done remarkable things over the years - and have risen to the challenge when hard times come knocking.
The Queen is one of these...
I think that turquoise and pink or peach are two colors that are very becoming on the First Lady.
Thanks, snugs....I love the GQ blue Toaster of President Bush!!!
The history within those castle walls!!! If only they could talk! It would be so much fun to really explore, wonder if william and harry got to find the secret rooms and stair cases?
We like that movie as well.
My pleasure it is always a joy to post these photos.
I have amended your toaster if you refresh your screen you should see the change.
You can indeed see the care and love for each other in the photos we post each day - it is heart warming.
I must get round to watching it.
Loved my toaster and the Dose..Thank you so much.
Regarding changing into the pink one that would have been done at the ambassador's residence where they flew from Windsor as it was several hours before they then went to dinner at Downing Street
