I’m wondering if the white shoes are a generational thing. The Queen is, after all, of the same generation as our parents. My Mama, and SirKit’s Mama wore white dress shoes a lot in the summertime. Maybe it’s because they didn’t have the sheer numbers of shoes that we tend to have today, I don’t know. I’m not a big fan of white shoes; even sandals. The sandals I wear most in the summer are my Beige nubuck Birkenstock Zurichs. They have two wide straps that go over each other on my instep. I’ve found that little strappy sandals mean my feet get COLD in spaces with A/C, so I like having more material over the top of my feet. ;o) With dress shoes , the lightest color I go is champagne.

Yeah, try as I might, UNLESS the shoes are tennis shoes or sandals, when I wear white shoes, I look down and it's as if the shoes are shouting at me... "WE'RE HUGE WHITE SHOES AND EVERYONE THINKS YOUR FEET ARE ABNORMALLY LARGE BECAUSE YOU ARE WEARING US!!!"

HA HA HA

Thanks for the encouragement and prayers. Your mom sounds like quite a charachter, very feisty like my mom. I saw my mom today and she seemed much better. Apparently the bone wasn’t broken clear through and they have it immobilized. It will have to be that way for a week and surgury isn’t needed. She lives at a retirement community which has a health center where she will stay for probably a week and then go back to her apartment with some help and therapy. She has a great attitude. With that and some prayers I think she will be fine soon. Again everyone, thanks for the prayers, I know they helped!

Oh, she was...it's their generation. They are great, strong people and yet it's so frustrating to not only be older and not be able to do what our brain still tells us we can; but in their case, they are older AND injured...that really puts a damper feeling good about the day. We all need to take a lesson from them.

That's great news about the fracture and not a full break. That was what happened to my Mom and her pelvic bone. It will be sore and it needs to "knit," but as soon as possible she has to do as much as she can and let the pain be her guide as to how far to push herself. SHE RESTS, SHE RUSTS - the scar tissue will take over and she will become stiff. It's good to keep asking her on a 1-10 scale, what is her pain level. You want to keep it around 2 and 3, if possible. 4 is too much, and she should be taking a Tylenol Extra Strength about 30 minutes before using it, and icing it a bit after her exercises. Her Physical Therapist should have some exercises for her to do. Oh, and my Mom also took Aleve because it's an anti-inflamatory.

Keep me posted and give her a big hug from me!
