Condolences to his wife and son.
Tim Russert wasn't my favorite news reporter but he was only moderately liberal and a guy it seemed hard to dislike.
Gone too soon at 58 years old.

Tim Russert was one of the few intellectually honest liberals who would ask hard questions of ‘Rats.

June 13, 2008 --
Tim Russert, NBC journalist and political heavyweight host of "Meet the Press," has died after collapsing at NBC's Washington news bureau, a source said. He was 58 years old.
Russert, who rose from the inside world of politics where he was former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo's press secretary and one-time chief of staff to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, was able to successfully cross over to political journalism and rise to become one of its leading lights.
In his role as host of the seminal Sunday morning political program "Meet the Press" - which he took over in 1991 - he became renowned for his hard-nosed interviews where he frequently cornered some of Washington's cagiest political figures with tough questions.
THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY. PLEASE REFRESH FOR UPDATES.

Hannity talking about it now. Say’s Russert gave him a $10,000 check to benefit the Freedom concerts. Didn’t want it known so Sean didn’t say anything.
Hannity airing Tom Brokaw and NBC live.

Incredibly Sad.
I hate to say it, but now NBC has even less credibility.

True. This is the way people used to go. I thought we'd gotten better at dealing with heart trouble and heart attacks over the years.

Although I haven’t watched him for years,he wasn't a giddy Lib like Chrissy Mathews. I feel for his son loosing his dad so close to Fathers Day.
Rip Mr. Russert.

This is sad news... One, I feel for his friends and family. Two, if you are one of those people who thinks Hillary has a chance in getting back in this thing then you know this is bad news. Many people always felt that Tim Russert was ready to take on the Clintons if he had too... He knew about the Juanita Broaddrick story (actually watched the 5 hour interview) and told people later that he felt like he was going to throw up. During debates he brought up the Clinton Library and questioned the bizarre pardons made by Bill Clinton in front of a national audience... Early in the election during a Clinton campaign conference call with several journalist on the call, a Clinton surrogate made sure to say that Russet should be shot... Basically, the Clintons always knew that Russert would be a problem for them.
