My condolences to the people of Missouri.

Yes. They lost a wonderful state Supreme Court Justice, who had just been re-elected in 2006 of all years, to the federal judiciary.

Johnson doesn't appear to have done anything wrong. Receiving favorable terms on a mortgage loan isn't a federal crime yet, is it?

is that you Tony Rezko?

Wright, er.. Pfleger, er..., Rezko, er..., now which is it. Oh yes...Johnson is not the man I once knew.

This man's associations are like a line up at a hate-America, corruption conference of the country.

Barack Hussein Obama represents the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

VOTE NOBAMANATION 2008

Just a few days ago he said that he couldn’t possibly vet every minor individual who worked on his campaign.

“What’s the big deal. This is politics, both sides do it.”

Very true. But they claim to be the party of the little people, and have most stupid people believing that rich people vote republican.

” just as Tony Rezko helped Obama with a sweetheart deal to buy his house, Countywide Financial, which Obama rails against, helped Johnson buy his.

But there is more on Johnson. In 2001, he joined Persueus LLC as a Vice Chairman..”

Would “water carrying” for Bush (a LIE), have made the Senate, comprised of other Bush haters, vote unanimously for Limbaugh?

A Bush hater AND a Rush hater .. very interesting.

Senate confirms two Missouri judges for federal posts

The Senate on Tuesday

***

unanimously confirmed two Missouri judges to seats on the federal bench.

***

The voice vote makes Judge Stephen Limbaugh Jr. of the Missouri Supreme Court and David G. Kays of the 26th Judicial Circuit the state’s newest federal district judges.

Limbaugh, of Cape Girardeau, will replace a judge in St. Louis. Kays, of Lebanon, will fill a seat in Kansas City.

Both had the support of Missouri’s U.S. senators, Republican Kit Bond and Democrat Claire McCaskill.

Limbaugh, a cousin of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, comes from a long line of Missouri judges. His father, Stephen Limbaugh Sr., is a federal judge in St. Louis, but has said he would resign once his son was confirmed.

Limbaugh was unsure about the timing of his transition from the state appellate bench to the federal courts.

His father, senior U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh Sr., must wind up his cases and take full retirement from the federal bench under rules that bar close relatives from serving on the same court. And Limbaugh himself must complete the annual workload of the Missouri Supreme Court, writing opinions and voting on cases.

Limbaugh said he expects both to complete their work by mid- to late July.

“The situation is bittersweet on two counts,” Limbaugh said. “I love the work of the court, with the honor of hearing the most important and novel and interesting legal issues of the day. I will leave colleagues on the court who I have worked with for 16 years now. The other bittersweet part is that he has to resign. But he has plans of his own he is planning to announce later.”

Limbaugh Sr. is 80, his son noted. And like Rush H. Limbaugh Sr., whose name graces the federal courthouse that opened last week in Cape Girardeau, “he won’t ever retire.”

The confirmation process for both Missouri nominees has been free of controversy, despite political wrangling over judicial candidates in other parts of the country. Kays was nominated in November and Limbaugh in December.

Both judges had the full support of Missouri’s U.S. senators, Republican Kit Bond and Democrat Claire McCaskill.

They are replacing judges who took senior status last year and now hear a reduced case load.

***

Missouri Supreme Court spokeswoman Beth Riggert said Limbaugh expects to be sworn in later this summer after he and his father on the federal bench wrap up case work.

Once he takes the oath of office, Limbaugh plans to hear cases in St. Louis and at the new courthouse in Cape Girardeau, which is named in honor of Limbaugh’s late grandfather, Rush H. Limbaugh Sr.

Former Gov. John Ashcroft appointed Limbaugh to the state high court in 1992, where he served as chief justice from 2001 to 2003.
