Matthews: Voting for McCain Like Staying on Sinking Titanic
NewsBusters | Mark Finkelstein

Vote Obama: it's a matter of life or death! It isn't much, if any, of an exaggeration to say that's how Chris Matthews characterized the choice confronting voters this November. Matthews not only described voting for Obama as something to be done to "save your life," he analogized voting for McCain to a decision to remain on the Titanic rather than man the lifeboats.

The Hardball host was a guest on today's Morning Joe.

So what. The Titanic and Olympic both suffered the same fate. I’m swimming to shore.

Is Hilly still a torpedo in the water?,/i>

Maybe in Reno's eyes. To me, she's just an ordinary, dysfunctional mine.

Since Chrissy hangs onto the sinking ship MSNBC I guess he would know about such stuff.

Matthews and Olbermann make a great team of nuts. He equates supporting Mc Cain with the Titanic. Wonder if he ever thought that supporting Obama is like supporting Marxism? On second thought, Matthews probably supports Marxism.

And voting for Obama is like taking a ride on the Hindenburg. It’s exciting right up until the explosion.

Some choice we have this election.

These people never cease to amaze me. We have had record good interest rates, unemployment, and other economic boons until relatively recently with the housing and gas issues.

Most of the impact of the housing issue was related to those investors and banks who made rediculous loans that should never have been made and to the people who took them on, foolishly thinking that they could use those variable rates. The market is shaking that out and when that happens there is hurt, 99% of it on the people who took the rosk and should feel the hurt so the market corrects.

None of that is the administrations fault and noe of it is akin to a sinking Titanic.

I have much more faith in this country and its people than these marxists do and that is precisely the point. They want their marxist friends to be in charge and have government do it all. History tells us where that leads and that is akin to diving down to an already sunken ship, taking our mask off...and breathing in the water.

But I digress.

The gas issue is something that has been developing for 40 years since the last one in the 70s. Each administration has had the opportunity to do something about it. Reagan made some attempts, but most of the others, including their other President hero, Clinton, did not. Bush has pushed for more drilling and has been stymied by the evnironemntal lobby in collusion with mainly the DNC but also too many republicans.

If we announced tomorrow that we were going to drill in ANWR, off the gulf cost, off the west coast, and in the Rockies for the shale...and that we were building 20 more nuclear plants, and 10 more large refineries...

YOU WOULD SEE OPEC LOWER ITS PRICES SO FAST TO TRY AND GET AHEAD OF AND UNDER THAT GAME THAT IT WOULD MAKE YOUR HEAD SPIN.

We should announce those things, take advantage of their lower prices...but then do them anyway and then cut OPEC completely off at the knees and let them use their oil for coffee in their crystal palaces. Just the same, we have succeeded and we are building friendly democratic republic on both sides of the largest state sponsor of terror in the wolrd, completely hemming them in.

...and we have not had another major attack here. So, that is success and we are safer irrespectoive of what all these fools and blowhards say.

For this...with all its other faults, they want to change administrations for something in Obama that will make ALL areas markedly worse. Economically, foreign policy, the war, and socially.

That is because Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

It's great to see PMSNBC is so objective in its coverage of the election. Objective reporters always have tingling legs when ruminating about a candidate, and gives the opponent the analogy of a sinking ship.

He needs to file as a one-man 527 just to cover his bases.

And just think, this is the objective megaphone in the run-up to the election when all other campaigning is muzzled thanks to McCain-Fiengold!

Show of hands on how many here truly believe Chris would certainly never stay on the Titanic? I mean, can't we all picture him shoving women and children outta the way, screaming like Dr. Smith from Lost In Space?
