Prosecutor Details Rape That Lasted 19 Hours
New York Times ^ | 6/6/08 | John Eligon

Posted on 06/06/2008 4:25:55 PM PDT by BlazingArizona

The time crept by so slowly and painfully that the 23-year-old Columbia University journalism student had decided it was time to end her life.

Over many torturous hours, she had been repeatedly raped, sodomized and forced to perform oral sex, a prosecutor told a jury on Thursday. The accused, Robert A. Williams, 31, had doused the woman’s face and body with boiling water and bleach, forced her to swallow handfuls of pills and to chase them with beer, sealed her mouth with glue, and bound her wrists and legs with shoelaces, cords and duct tape, said the prosecutor, Ann P. Prunty. And now, Ms. Prunty said, he was asking the woman to gouge out her own eyes with a pair of scissors.

Poor ‘ol Mr. Williams, it’s not his fault. It had to be Whitey’s fault somewhere along the way. A white teacher, or white baseball coach, etc. must have messed him over. A little rehab and he’ll be fine!

“Does New York State have a death penalty?”

Only for taxpayers who don’t file on time.

Sounds like this guy studied at the feet of the inventor of Kwaanza.

And I’ll bet the victim was white.

Hate crime all the way.

I agree with you. If he could kill before age 18, you know he could kill after age 18.

“Another function of justice is revenge for evil. It is not the field for forgiveness, which is an individual matter. If governments are not empowered to carry out retributive punishment, then the people will do it themselves, and we will have vendetta. That will be the ultimate result of the work of groups like the ACLU.”

The social tension is becoming too tightly wound up to remain a “forgiving” society. The ACLU mindset of giving mad dogs the breaks, while breaking the spirit and will for decent people to continue living, is going to boil over. The scum have fed a fire that can only be quenched by spilling the blood of the guilty, immediately, where they stand and crawl.

The media farce in Seattle where a muslim fanatic killed one Jewish woman and injured others was given a mistrial on some jury nullifying, niggling question as to state of mind or other parsed lawyerly garbage.

Our streets will not be safe until they are slippery with the blood of the scum. And we shall see both bloody streets and dead murderers before we regain control of our country and culture.

Mr. Williams turned a clock by the woman’s bed to the wall and made her take off her watch so she would not know what time it was

That's pretty shrewd thinking, yet the defense lawyer wants to use an "insanity defense." I'd say that lawyer deserves death as badly as the perp.

Does New York State have a death penalty?

Yes. Vetoed by Cuomo and rammed through by Pataki. One of the relatively few good points of his administration.

We believe that criminals, like communists, are on their best behavior when they are afraid.

More innocents will be killed by murderers who are not executed (in prison, or once released or if they escape) than will be killed by the state in erroneous executions.

You certainly won’t get flamed by me! Obviously this piece of trash could never be rehabilitated and should’ve been taken out years ago. And no, I don’t give a rat’s rear about his color. Monsters are monsters! In this day and age, I keep a loaded gun in the console of my car within easy reach, there’s a 357 Magnum right by my bed loaded with hollow points and wad-cutters. As well as several other loaded handguns and shotguns placed around the house within easy reach. (And no, we don’t have any small children running around.) My dad has a punishment for this type which consists of nailing a certain part of the anatomy to a stump, setting the stump on fire and throwing him a dull knife. Yeah, that could work.

This woman had a lot of grit to endure such a horrible event. The odds were sure against her that she would be able to do the things she did and survive; quick thinking to burn the rope she was tied with.

What am I missing here.

a heart! liberalism is a mental disorder and this reeks of liberals in action, give him a second chance, hell give him a third, fourth, fifth chance, who cares how many people he kills/rapes in the process, he's ill, a victim, he was probably abused as a child, either that or he's bipolar, he'll get a pass wait and see..........

I’m not sure but I think not. Even if be got the death penalty-after years of appeals, his execution would still be more humane than what this sub-human scum did to this poor woman. The same bunch screaming about waterboarding will be trying to find “extenuating circumstances” for this POS. In a just world he would die a horrible death-at least drawing and quartering-with the execution open to the public to witness his humiliation as he sh$ts himself in fear.

The death penalty was thrown out by the Court of Appeals (NY’s equivalent to the Supreme Court everywhere else). Nobody was being executed anyway (and Pataki knew this), so it was purely symbolic when NY had it anyway.
