According to the latest news reports , Sen. McCain has tapped a former Reagan administration official to head his campaign's search for a vice presidential nominee.
Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander of Tennessee told The Hill newspaper that Arthur Culvahouse, who was Reagan's White House counsel from March 1987 to January 1989, would be helping McCain vet candidates and develop a list.
Culvahouse is a partner at O'Melveny & Myers and works in the law firm's Washington, DC office. Like many of McCain's campaign chiefs, he has been a long-time DC lobbyist.
McCain hosted several potential vice presidential candidates last weekend at his ranch in Sedona, AZ, including Mitt Romney, Charlie Crist, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham and Joseph Lieberman. And there's even more who could -- or should -- be on the short list...

When I went to the link to voice my opinion, I was surprised to see Charlie Crist listed FIRST, with nice things said about him that weren’t true.
Charlie Crist is disingenuous, and a RINO.
Here are a few reasons why:

That action and his reluctance to take a clear pro-life stance in the gubernatorial election, prompted Florida Right to Life to endorse Gallagher in the September primary.”

Not sure but I would like someone who really doesn’t want a future in politics as he or she will be but a footnote in history and the answer to: who was the running mate for McCain when he lost the 2008 election in a landslide?

Barr will get 10% of the Conservative vote, McGreen will lose in a landslide. Even states that were traditionally Red.
The media and the 527’s haven’t even begun to kick in yet and already McNuts is in trouble.
Lieberman's been there and done that. Still probably has a "Sore/Loserman" tee shirt in his closet somewhere. Even if that didn't rankle a bit, why on earth would he want to be second banana to McCain?
Besides, Lieberman is only 6 years younger than McCain. He needs a younger running mate.
Why?
Romney as VP unites the party.
Romney only unites RINO’s. AKA, the “Party”.
Palin’s a conservative as opposed to a socialist and she wants to drill in ANWAR. She’s also pro-life.
She also has less than a year and a half experience in a major elective office. If a major theme of your campaign is going to be your opponents inexperience then it doesn't help your cause to pick a running mate with even less experience that he has.
I don’t believe that Romney can unite the conservative base... In fact.. I don’t see any real conservative even accepting the #2 SLOT in a McCain administration... we NEED to put a conservative in the #1 and then a “moderate” in the #2 would be paletable for the base.. IMHO..
Since I can’t stand McCain, it really doesn’t matter now, does it????????
