ALERT: Would YOU like a personal say in who John McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, should pick as his Vice Presidential running mate? Now you can -- and this isn't just some useless online poll. You get to tell the man who's actually helping McCain do the picking!
According to the latest news reports , Sen. McCain has tapped a former Reagan administration official to head his campaign's search for a vice presidential nominee.
Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander of Tennessee told The Hill newspaper that Arthur Culvahouse, who was Reagan's White House counsel from March 1987 to January 1989, would be helping McCain vet candidates and develop a list.
Culvahouse is a partner at O'Melveny & Myers and works in the law firm's Washington, DC office. Like many of McCain's campaign chiefs, he has been a long-time DC lobbyist.
McCain hosted several potential vice presidential candidates last weekend at his ranch in Sedona, AZ, including Mitt Romney, Charlie Crist, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham and Joseph Lieberman. And there's even more who could -- or should -- be on the short list...
So let's help suggest who should be the VP pick!
TAKE ACTION: There are a bunch of websites that have sprung up, with polls and surveys you can fill out to give your opinion on who should be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee. They all promise to send the results to the McCain campaign, to "influence" his pick.
We've set our site up so that you can send a message DIRECTLY to the man who is leading the VP search for John McCain, right away. We've even made it easy for you - just click to insert your favorite choice into the message, and edit it to say it all in your own words!
Make your voice heard TODAY. Please click "Go!" NOW to send a FREE message to Arthur Culvahouse, the head of the McCain campaign's search for a vice presidential running mate, and let him know who YOU think should be the VP nominee.
NOTE: Be sure to send this Alert to EVERYONE you know who wants to make THEIR voice heard on who should be the GOP Vice Presidential nominee. Thank you!
Exactly correct, sir!
I am at the point where it would be fine with me, if McCain stopped by a local zoo and picked out the brightest monkey for his VP...as long as he doesn’t pick that Huckafreak.
Good speculation or prediction. All I can further add is that between Obama, Hillary, and McCain, the American electorate has disgraced itself.
David, we have a saying: “Alaska: where the winters are cold and the Governor is hot.” Smart, too, and an iron lady.
Hard to beat that combination.
If you keep doing that it ain’t going to get any better.
As the old daying goes,” If you keep on doing what you have always done, you will keep getting what you always got.
It is a personal decision you are going to have to make ypurself.
Mine came in 2006 when I voted against Jim Davis by voting for Charlie Crist.
Really? Do you know anyone who voted for him? I don't, and I don't know anyone who knows anyone who voted for him. The only people I know of for him are the paid shills on this forum.
David,
He ain’t perfect — like McCain? (LOL) — but I’ve known Bob Barr for a few years and I believe he’d be a much better candidate.
If Bob Barr is on the ballot in YOUR state (and he will be in some 47 or 48 of them) YOU NOW HAVE A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOUR TOTAL DISDAIN FOR THOSE RUNNING THE TWEEDLE DUMB/TWEEDLE DUMBER (Pubbie/Dems) PARTIES (INTO THE GROUND ALONG WITH OUR KIDS’ FUTURES).
You’re thinking “If I vote for Barr, it might let the wrong guy win.” In this election, they’re BOTH the “wrong guy.” For some different reasons but they’re both the wrong guy so WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
Don’t know about you, but THIS grandfather is sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils and then being surprised that the evils of destruction of American sovereignty, massive unfunded debt and the consequent inflation, presidentially ordered wars, stupid energy — among thousands of other — policies, ballooning bureaucracy, etc., etc., ad nauseum continue without letup.
Unless you just enjoy those increasingly frequent ankle gripping exercises ordered by the Gang of 535 and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, time to PUT UP OR SHUT UP, PEOPLE!!
TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!!!!!!
Giant NO on Charlie Crist, the liberal republican governor of Fla.
Palin’s a good pick for #2.
If it was Hunter, Tancredo, or Bolton as VP I’d give a hoot. Otherwise, he can pound salt.

Do not pick me. If I am accidently selected or elected and somehow by cosmic misadventure become Pres, I have two things to do and then will go to lunch and not return.
Or, are you implying election fraud?
Either way, get a grip and get over it! He won the primary! We may not like him, but the other two alternatives are absolutely unacceptable. If either of them get in, with RAT majorities in the House and Senate, and then next elections will not offer us any alternatives!
You better get used to the fact that if the RATS get total power again, they will jimmy the works so that they can never lose it again.
I like Governor Bobby Jindal, Sen. John Thune, Governor Palin, J.C. Watts, Michael Steele and Rob Portman for VP, and a few others.
Of course, DUNCAN HUNTER would be my favorite, but I’ve never seen him on any of Senator McCain’s short list(s).
Bobby Jindal had a 100% rating with the ACU, when he was congressman.
Charlie Crist is a RINO, except for a couple of issues, and would be the WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE.
That sounds great, but the reality is, most of the country is not conservative as we would define it. So we might all get behind someone in a third party, but that person is still going to lose, and we'll end up with the liberals that the Dems put up.
Sorry, I just can't bear the thought of a President Obama. I'm voting for McCain.
I am not willing to get on board with McCain until we have exhausted ALL possibilities... there is still time for him to WITHDRAW, and take the matter to the convention.. I would dare say that ANY of the Republican candidates would be FAR BETTER than McCain.. of course my first choice is still Duncan Hunter.. but I understand that our party is not that conservative...... wishful thinking on my part.. I know
That's a pipe dream. He received the needed number of delegates. He's not going to withdraw.
