ALERT: Would YOU like a personal say in who John McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, should pick as his Vice Presidential running mate? Now you can -- and this isn't just some useless online poll. You get to tell the man who's actually helping McCain do the picking!

According to the latest news reports , Sen. McCain has tapped a former Reagan administration official to head his campaign's search for a vice presidential nominee.

Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander of Tennessee told The Hill newspaper that Arthur Culvahouse, who was Reagan's White House counsel from March 1987 to January 1989, would be helping McCain vet candidates and develop a list.

Culvahouse is a partner at O'Melveny & Myers and works in the law firm's Washington, DC office. Like many of McCain's campaign chiefs, he has been a long-time DC lobbyist.

McCain hosted several potential vice presidential candidates last weekend at his ranch in Sedona, AZ, including Mitt Romney, Charlie Crist, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham and Joseph Lieberman. And there's even more who could -- or should -- be on the short list...

So let's help suggest who should be the VP pick!

TAKE ACTION: There are a bunch of websites that have sprung up, with polls and surveys you can fill out to give your opinion on who should be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee. They all promise to send the results to the McCain campaign, to "influence" his pick.

We've set our site up so that you can send a message DIRECTLY to the man who is leading the VP search for John McCain, right away. We've even made it easy for you - just click to insert your favorite choice into the message, and edit it to say it all in your own words!

Make your voice heard TODAY. Please click "Go!" NOW to send a FREE message to Arthur Culvahouse, the head of the McCain campaign's search for a vice presidential running mate, and let him know who YOU think should be the VP nominee.

NOTE: Be sure to send this Alert to EVERYONE you know who wants to make THEIR voice heard on who should be the GOP Vice Presidential nominee. Thank you!

Audrina Patridge, well, maybe not, but I would like to see Gov Sarah Palin or Gen David Petraeus.

>> MY COMMENT: Even if McCain had Ronald Reagan himself as VP I just can't get excited about him as POTUS.... I think McCain needs to WITHDRAW from the race <<

My comment: If you don't care who he picks, why bother to post this thread? Go hang out on another thread and the rest of us will have discussions and pay close attention to whether a solid conservative or a RINO sellout is a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

As for me, I'd feel much more relieved if Sarah Palin is waiting in the wings to step-in at a moment's notice than say, Olympia Snowe.

I am very, very disgusted with McCain.

His immigration policy is Leftist; he nearly changed parties in 2004; he wants to repeal the tax cuts; he swallowed the Al Gore lie of Global Warming.

How did Mitt Romney lose? How did Fred Thompson lose?

Why are people screaming to have their taxes raised by Obama? He gives the masses hope...hope to tax more of your success for their failures.

“I just wish I could have had a say in who was the Presidential Nominee!”

Me, too! It was all over by the time the Ohio primary rolled around!

Who gives a big rat’s butt? Certainly not me. This nation will be going to h*ll in a handbasket for the next 4 years, possibly 8, regardless of who gets in. We survived Bubba’s reign. I suspect we’ll survive whichever idiot that gets the seat.

Indiana is already a safe state for McCain and Daniels isn’t all that popular here.

We should pick a Conservative to run for President, is that what you said? Well, you do that and it's a sure bet he will not win.

"..polls and surveys you can fill out to give your opinion on who should be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee."

Sure, why not?

Very "democratic" this.

What the heck, we might as well just call ourselves democrats, too.

And as if John McCain or any other candidate would pay the slightest bit of attention to a poll.

Get real.

Having said all this.. I don’t know what I will do come November... normally I would just “hold my nose” and vote for the “R”... but I just can’t see that happening this time.. I am sick and tired of the LIBERAL wing of the Republican Party telling us conservatives to “hold your nose and vote”

Yeah, I know how you feel. I personally am sick and tired of how the liberal/moderate wing of the Republican Party actually gets out and campaigns and votes in the primaries while my fellow Conservatives remained virtually silent and left people like me in a minority of supporting candidates like Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter. Thus, we were left with John McCain as our candidate.

I figure if 12 million more members of the Conservative Base had gotten active, say, back in December of 2007, we might be telling the liberal wing of the GOP to "hold their noses and vote."

But, like I said, only a minority of us were supporting the candidates with solidly Conservative crendentials. So, here we are.

BTW, I'd like to see Michael Steele as McCain's running mate.

Although pretty inexperienced, I like Palin. She would make it very easy for the disaffected Hillary supporters to vote for McCain.

If the Republican Party is not the party of Conservatives, then we have no where to go. Why do we let RINOs take over the Party?

Either the Republican Party becomes a conservative party, with conservative candidates, or we find some where else to go. The best way to turn the Republicans to the path of truth and right is to abstain from voting for their RINO candidates. If they can’t win without conservatives, they will have to cater to our principles.

Hope the GOP and their wishy washy middle are happy. Today there are two democrat candidates and the race is tight. Tomorrow there will be one and “our” psychotic idiot will slide into the tail and stay there.

Picking a real conservative would have led to a landslide win for the GOP.

Hi to another Tancredo supporter! I emailed him over 4 years ago and asked him to run for President and he did. I’m always wondering if my email got to him and influenced him.

Do you think he’ll change his mind about not running for reelection to congress?

I’m not mocking you here, but that is a pie in the sky dream. It’s not going to happen, and logically, honestly what do you think will happen to this Country if all us conservatives stay at home? I am not willing to find out. We are stuck with this RINO until we can try again next time.
