TV Nets Preparing for Hillary Concession Tuesday Night - All Signs Also Point To "Adios"
Friends and Fiends at TV Networks In NY and DC | MB26

Posted on 06/02/2008 12:07:36 PM PDT by MindBender26

Will keep this short.

Networks preparing for Hillary to (finally) quit in speech Tuesday night.

Will be from NY, Staffers being told to turn in expenses, resumes being FedExed to Obama and other state/local campaigns.

Staffers at one network recalled from lunches to prepare.

Campaign staffers being told to go home.

One network had long conference call among suits last night, followed by conference call between tech types to set up remotes, back-hauls, break-ins, etc.

Union technicians, cameramen, audio, video engineers, etc. told to expect overtime.

More as available

From Associated Press RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton will give her post-primary speech in New York Tuesday night, a rare departure from the campaign trail. Staffers who have worked for her on he ground in Puerto Rico, South Dakota and Montana have been invited to attend the event or go home for further instructions, campaign aides said. The New York senator had no other events Tuesday. She planned to address AIPAC Wednesday in Washington.

From "The Atlantic" Clinton Campaign staffers and former campaign staffers are being urged by the Clinton campaign's finance department to turn in their outstanding expense receipts by the end of the week. That's a sign, to them, that the campaign wants to get its affairs in order soon. If Clinton were staying in the race, there'd be no real reason to collect these receipts now; she'd still be raising and spending money from the same primary campaign account. The campaign is in arrears to the tune of about $11 million.

From one network:

"The former first lady's campaign announced that she would hold an election night "celebration" in her home state of New York, not in the final voting states of Montana or South Dakota."

The Politico website reported that far-flung members of Clinton's travelling staff had been summoned back to New York for Tuesday evening and told their roles on the campaign are ending.

Oh, thank God. I’m sick of turning on the news to seeing her face plastered all over it.

And that cackle and stupid finger-pointing she always does.

Gaaahhhhh!!

One should note both Hillary and Obama will be in NYC on Wednesday. Could they appear together possibly?

Was a deal made? Who knows......all speculation.......but it sure points to Hillary dropping out.

It would be stunning considering her comments this weekend that made me think she was in this until the convention!

ironic thing is VAnity Fair today is quoting senior campaign sources that there were serious concerns Bill was having sexual liasons with women while on the campaign trail.

I don't know if even that would make her drop out.

I agree. There is going to be a love fest between them after tomorrow night’s primary results that will turn all of our stomachs inside out. I’m skeptical the RATS would carry the split through the summer. Come fall they’ll be closers than two butt cheeks supered-glued!

Rush said today that the Drive-Bys are going to come out with hit piece after hit piece on Clinton Inc. to get her to drop out.

This is definitely another possibility. When thinking about it, it does appear this could be what those signs of dropping our are pointing to.......a change in strategy and placement of people.

It may not be an outright drop-out, and considering the fact she said in PR over the weekend she does not consider this finished until all delegates have made up their minds, it would not be a drastic change like it would be to drop out.

If she does drop out tomorrow, she would have made a 180 degree shift from what she said she was going to do (shockingly ignored by the media, but I heard it with my own ears!) while in PR. She clearly indicated the fight was not over tomorrow, but nobody is getting that yet.....

So, if she did drop out, she changed her mind completely in just a few days.

She isn’t going to murder Obama. Please.

She would be too obvious a suspect.

He isn’t going to be assassinated.

Her concession will be described as “extremely gracious” and as one of the best ever given.

Well, I hope Rush and Co. are going to be happy with their new President Osama. Hillary was despicable but beatable; this guy is much more obsessed than she is, much more dishonest than even the Clintons and much more savvy about media. Nobody is going to beat him, because his goons are already out there eliminating challenges, building their own challenges, and doing all the Saul Alinsky tactics that got Barry O his present position (with absolutely no credentials).

Look at his track record. He has done nothing but go from power to power, with no accomplishments or background whatsoever. He’s a demagogue, he’s going to get elected because he will stop at nothing, and we’re all going to be sorry.

If the Beast is throwing in the towel it means there’s been a deal made.

Exactly, I'm sure America will pay a heavy price for it somewhere down the road.

Clinton could have easily taken this to the convention, money is no option since I'm sure they have millions of Chinese money tucked away in some off shore account, power is their only aphrodisiac and she made a deal to acquire it.

I wonder what she asked for and how many bodies will have to be buried to give it to her

The changes I’ve read about seem only to reflect the changing nature of the primary as the states will have all voted. There’s really not as much travel involved at this point. It’s now time to shift to fomenting doubt about her opponent and schmooze superdelegates heading into Denver. No need to have an itinerary that calls for visiting 10 states in 10 days.

Well, I hope Rush and Co. are going to be happy with their new President Osama.

RUSH: Obama. We were talking about Iraq and the surge, and "it doesn't work," and my brilliant prognostication of a year ago in which I asked: What happens if this all turns around? Do you realize how they've pigeonholed themselves? And after all, folks, we're talking about the United States Military which does not lose (unless the Democrats are in charge) and the Democrats tried to secure defeat but they couldn't, because on this George W. Bush hung tough. Last Friday on PMSNBC (otherwise known as DNCTV) Morning Joe, Obama campaign strategerist David Axelrod was asked by Mike Barnicle, "Do you know whether Senator Obama thinks there's been progress made in Iraq?"

AXELROD: I -- think w-w-what he's -- what he's said is that there's been, uh... I mean he never disputed the fact that if you throw a -- a surge of American soldiers in an area that you can, uh, make a difference.

RUSH: Really? "He never disputed the fact" never? "that if you throw a surge of American soldiers in an area that you can make a difference?" Let's go back to January 14th of 2007, about a year and a half ago, Senator Barack Obama is the guest and says this about more troops in Iraq.

OBAMA: We cannot impose a military solution on what has effectively become a civil war. And until we acknowledge that reality, uh, we can send 15,000 more troop; 20,000 more troops; 30,000 more troops. Uh, I don't know any, uh, expert on the region or any military officer that I've spoken to, uh, privately that believes that that is gonna make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground.

RUSH: He's an idiot. He is a lying idiot! He says he can't find a general who will tell him it worked? Have you ever heard of David Petraeus, who is a general? It is working. A year and a half ago, he is dead wrong. He doesn't know what he's talking about. When he's put on the spot like this, and he doesn't have an answer prewritten that he has mermaid, he is wandering aimlessly in search of a thought. Axelrod said, "Well, of course going to throw soldiers at something, it's going to work." No! Just the opposite. Obama, in his own words: the surge is impossible. We will hold onto this bite, and we will continue to play it at the appropriate strategic times to clearly illustrate: this man knows not at all from what he is saying.
