Bill and Hillary Clinton no longer control the Democratic primary. There's simply no other conclusion to draw after the party's Rules and Bylaw committee reached a decision Saturday that helps Barack Obama and hurts Hillary Clinton's chances of somehow winning the Democratic presidential nomination.
Clinton, in the words of Florida State Sen. Arthenia Joyner, wanted "it all" at Saturday's meeting. She wanted full delegations seated from Florida and Michigan, with a full vote.
She wanted Obama to get zero delegates from Michigan, since he followed the rules, ignored the outlaw primary and went so far as to take his name off the ballot. (Granted, he did this largely to please voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, but so did Clinton when she agreed not to campaign in either state).
Instead of acquiesing to Clinton's demands, the rules committee awarded full delegations with half votes. And they gave Obama a bunch of delegates from Michigan to boot, rejecting Clinton's argument those delegates should be uncommitted.
So did Clinton get ripped off? Her supporters certainly believed so, shouting their disapproval when the votes on Florida and Michigan were taken Saturday at a Washington hotel.
But let's look more closely. Clintonites on the rules committee actually voted unanimously to support the Florida compromise. ....

Yup, the Clinton's are OVER if she doesn't get the dem nod. She's cornered and she's spittin mad!
Oh the humanity.....please pass the popcorn.
Isn’t it likely a new face will emerge in 2012 on the Dem. side, similar to how Obama rose this year? The Clintons aren’t looked at the same way anymore. I think Hillary will have challengers in 2012, assuming McCain beats Obama in November.
>>>no...she actually think she will have another chance in 2012 after McCain beats Obama like a red-headed stepchild.
No: I think Hillary’s logic is without flaw : from the point of view of her own self-interests.
If she actually succeeds in getting the nomination, well: she’s got the nomination.
If she fails, and - as it would appear to be the case - Obama’s candidacy bites the dust, she’s got four years of “I told you so’s” to the Dems, and she gets the 2012 nomination. (Not that she has a good chance running in either 2008 or 2012)
Operation Chaos, my ass.
The Barrett Report which can be released in unredacted form by any sitting Senator and has been said to be devastating for the Clintons.
This is an extraordinarily interesting and fairly hilarious election season.
Rush will go into the history books for this. LOL
Is there anything she won’t do to attain power?
I disagree. I am betting she will make a speech endorsing Obama, call off the attack dogs, and make a graceful exit. No sarcasm tag.
What is the Barret Report?
It's sad that most people don't realize this. If he was really about following the rules...why didnt' he take his name off the florida ballot?
Fort Marcy Park is going to be an awful busy place in the coming months.
AMEN!
Hillary is a sociopath. We will never see the end of her.
If Obama makes her his VP, she may pull an RFK on him.
2012 will be her last chance to run for president (she will be too old in 2016), and the Dems will run the incumbent, so she may pull an RFK then, too.
Hillary is like the monster in the horror movie — you throw it out the window and think it’s gone, but it keeps crawling back in. We have not seen the last of her.
Ooh, mentioning Fort Marcy is getting a wee bit morbid, I thought it was all about the karma, as the uber-hollywood starlet: Sharon Stone famously stated./Just Asking - seoul62.........
Yep...Rush has managed to get me interested in an election that isn’t really thrilling me.
