Noteworthy, not because this is the first time hes said something this vile but because its not. He floated it to our favorite liberal in February during an interview on Fox News radio (and, sad to say, wasnt called on it) and thought so highly of his bon mot that he recycled it for his new book. Either no ones taken him aside to explain how disgusting it is or someone has taken him aside but he thinks its so important and righteous that hes going to keep deploying it anyway. I dont know which is worse. Bear in mind, though, that even demagogues on the order of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton tend to shy away from rhetoric in this vein when applied to simple voting preferences. Hes actually out-race-baiting professional race-baiters.
I have previously written in His Panic, Why Americans Fear Hispanics in the U.S. that, any Latino who votes for a Republican or a Democrat who opposes rational immigration reform is an Uncle Tom. In view of the pending Puerto Rico Democratic primary and the island commonwealths rare opportunity to explain itself and amplify the growing importance in the larger nations future of the Latino vote; it is time to say to all three candidates that our votes will go to the presidential aspirant who has the courage to defy the mob and call for an immediate cessation of ICEs draconian workplace campaign. Leaving a trail of broken hearts and disrupted communities is not the way to fix Americas broken immigration system.
Note the casual reference to our votes; Ive said my piece before about his crude, one-dimensional approach to this issue but its nice to know, a year later, that nothings changed. Read the whole post, too, as his alternative to raids on illegal immigrant workplaces is handing out summonses giving the recipient a time and place to appear for a deportation hearing. Michelle addressed that subject in an interview once upon a time with Neil Cavuto, but if you cant be bothered with the clip, read Heather MacDonalds essay on criminal illegal aliens (which might help Geraldo understand why ICE is armed) and look for the paragraph on run letters. Quote: [I]n 2001, 87 percent of deportable aliens who received run letters disappeared, a number that was even higher94 percentif they were from terror-sponsoring countries. Exit question: In which chapter of that Media Matters report on fear and loathing in immigration rhetoric, do you suppose, will we find Geraldos Uncle Tom comment featured?
I enjoyed seeing that ‘War Stories’ with Ollie were on in his time slot Sat night. Also, Hannity’s America was on back to back on Sunday. Does this mean (hopefully) that he is finally gone from Fox?
Jerry Rivers can kindly go sit on an air hose and turn it on full blast. He’s more full of stuffing than a Thanksgiving turkeyl.
any Latino who votes for a Republican or a Democrat who opposes rational immigration reform is an Uncle Tom.
And any American who advocates open borders is a traitor.
shame he got out Al Capone’s vault
An early nominee for Post of the Day! ;)
Why would a Hispanic who arrived here legally want to grant to other Hispanics the same benefits without their need to play by the rules?
He doesn’t even speak for all Puerto Ricans!
Race-baiting from Geraldo?
Or ethnic-baiting?
Nah, never!
Funny how Political-Correctness-Speak has appropriated the name of the Roman province of Hispania to mean "Mestizo".
Shouldn’t that be “Frito Banditos”?
Why not call them Rosenbergs (as in those who sold out America to the USSR)?
Or Benedict Arnolds?
Does this mean (hopefully) that he is finally gone from Fox?

Don’t know, but I hope so.
I can’t stand to watch Hannity much these days. One of his many annoying bits is his giving air time to Al Sharpton. Why does he choose to give legitimacy to that race hustler?
It really is. Thanks for suggesting it.

Those who tune in to Geraldo are idiots.
What was he - the only embedded reporter who got the boot for giving away his unit’s position in the Iraq War?
“uncle toms”
and what do you call the other ethnic groups who emigrated to this country LEGALLY and vote for anti-amnesty candidates?
AMERICANS! that’s what!
gezzzzzzzzzzzzzz...Whoraldo puts his Left foot in his mouth every time he opens it!
You know, sadly, this seems to be a common tactic among liberals AND conservatives. I cannot tell you how many times I have been called names simply because the poster did not agree with my POV.
susie
Hey Gerry! Don’t you mean “Oncle’ Tomas?”
