Obama criticizes absent McCain on Senate floor, McCain hits back hard

Jim Webb's GI Bill passed the Senate today with a bipartisan majority, 75-22. Clinton and Obama were both there, but McCain is in California today on the fundraising trail.

Obama used the opportunity to once again tie his rival to the president.

"I respect Sen. John McCain's service to our country," Obama said on the Senate floor this morning. "He is one of those heroes of which I speak. But I can't understand why he would line up behind the president in opposition to this GI Bill. I can't believe why he believes it is too generous to our veterans. I could not disagree with him and the president more on this issue."

The McCain campaign responded by issuing a sharply worded and lengthy statement in the senator's name. McCain notes his support for an alternative to the Webb measure, but points out his own military service and points out Obama's lack thereof.

I will not accept from Senator Obama, who did not feel it was his responsibility to serve our country in uniform, any lectures on my regard for those who did.

Gonna leave a mark...

Here have the straight-up from New York: Obama is a tricked up mack daddy hustler, who does know who the blank he is or where he came from. I mean I simply do not have respect for a man who calls himself black, ummmm was his mother, like white? Why does he go out of the way to throw this fact, under the bus like the existence of his WHITE GRANDPARENTS? I am half American of Irish descent and half Japanese, and I no more would throw any side under the bus. I simply have no patience for people who are mixed but only identify with one side./Just Asking - seoul62.........

“Perhaps, if Senator Obama would take the time and trouble to understand this issue he would learn to debate an honest disagreement respectfully. But, as he always does, he prefers impugning the motives of his opponent, and exploiting a thoughtful difference of opinion to advance his own ambitions. If that is how he would behave as President, the country would regret his election.”

SO THERE!!!

McCain seems to want to lose the general election before the campaign even begins.

Let's face it. McCain for all his years served in the U.S. Senate doesn't know squat about serving as president. Tone it down old man. Your teeth and temper are flaring and it is a ghastly sight.

Only if we quiver and squeal.

If McCain would talk to liberals like this all the time I might just vote for him.

It’s so nice to have a candidate who stands up to the liberal crap, at least some times. As much as I love President Bush, that is one area in which he has sorely been lacking.

Frankly is the Bush administration or many other Republicans had some guys on their team who could fight back things might have gone a lot better.

The fight seems to be gone out of Bush but there are important things left to fight about i.e. why doesn't he tell it like it is about how the Rats have destroyed our energy situation and it is the Rats, and some idiot Republicans, who are responsible for our gas prices?

All during the Iraq war, the left has been insisting that if you aren’t in or weren’t in the military, you have no right to speak in support of the war.

Actually, in a leftist’s mind, you have no right to speak if what you say is contrary to their beliefs and agenda.

We need to drop the attacks on our own man and promote comments like this one that Senator McCain made in his response to Hussein Obama.

I will not accept from Senator Obama, who did not feel it was his responsibility to serve our country in uniform, any lectures on my regard for those who did.

Obama is a two-bit bastard child born to a pimp married to an atheist slut. McCain is a great patriot born in a legendary patriotic family. End of discussion”

How big would that bumper sticker have to be? At least the first sentence???

Wow. McCain really gave it to Obama. Made Obama look stupid, spoiled, unappreciative and an opportunistic.

The military is one area where McCain really shines and one area where Obama doesn’t have a clue. You can bet that Obama won’t go there again.

This bill is a stinker and is bad for the military. I know people at personnel in the five sided building which think this will create huge personnel issues.

I still despise McCain but this reminds me again that with McCain, the adults stay in charge and with O’Bama it’s back to frathouse pizza parties in the oval office to all hours of the night.
