Nutty Profs Blame Kids for Gloom
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | May 19, 2008 | Olivia St. John

It's springtime, and all God's creatures are ready for mating, but psychobabble killjoys are warning: Don't have kids. They'll make you miserable, and you'll deserve taxation for environmental abuse.

On May 8, just as the songbirds were readying nests for their offspring, a Harvard professor tried to put a damper on the joys of human procreation by declaring that having children strips happiness from their parents. Professor Daniel Gilbert announced to the Happiness and its Causes conference in Sydney, Australia, that with each child the barometer of happiness plummets.

Sad...

My kids are my greatest joy, and the source of an endless supply of happiness. I suppose that may not be true for everyone...

I wonder how many kids this “expert on the subject” has...

It’s amazing the worthless, brain-dead, pieces of crap who are being allowed to use the title “professor” these days.

Can I pinch that baby’s cheeks? She’s a doll! I have a little guy who would love to make her acquaintance (he’s such a little flirt at not even 8 months!)

Your kids are absolutely beautiful (coming from a mom of two girls and two boys)!

I wonder if this dude would carry it to the exreme, meaning that to avoid the possibility of the joy of children, people must be prepared to avoid the joy of sex. Leftists tend to be in favor of sexual freedom, but where do the killjoy children come from?

Oh, they’ll tire you out, and burn you out, and drive you crazy. But all it takes is one hug, one snuggle, one smile, one “Daddy!”, and everything turns around.

The professor’s parents probably agree with him.

She’s my little princess. You can certainly pinch her cheeks, if she lets you! And I hope your little guy likes older women (she turns 10 months old today.)

My 2 guys and little girl have made life a lot of fun.

Liberals are mentally disturbed, so this is no surprise.

Besides, liberals are miserable, unhappy people and don’t see the joy in parenthood.

Last, liberals deny human nature, have no sense of humor, hate themselves and everybody else, have no sense of joy or hope, hate it when anyone else is enjoying something and wish they and everyone else were dead.

Yeah, my kids are so awful, I wish I could have afforded to have a few more just like ‘em.

You’ve got some gorgeous kids there! Can I be their honorary Grandma? I promise not to spoil them too much. ;)

Our oldest is turning 10 in less than three weeks, and her dad and I are discussing what convent to put her in :P We are in trouble when puberty hits! We have a 5 y.o. son who is a huge hit with the ladies (the 5th and 6th grade ladies that is). Our 3 y.o. daughter who turns 4 next month is called the (platinum) blond banshee of our house. And the littlest one is always being fussed over with those blue eyes and blond hair.

My mom likes to remind me that just about 15 years ago I told her I was never having kids after I babysat a couple of kids for the summer. Obviously I got over it!

Funny you say that...my 5 year old boy is quite a hit with a lot of girls, including the across-the-street 9th grader and her sisters! And the 2 year old, well, you see the puppy-dog eyes he has...he’s the only one who can compete with his brother for attention!

Somewhere in the 1970's, an ardent environmentalist came up with the idea of reversing the child tax credit. That is, your income taxes would be increased for each child you had. The idea was that such a disincentive for having children would decrease to population (good) for the environment and be good for children because only wealthy families, able to adequately care for and educate the youngsters. As I recall, the idea was poorly received by all minorities (generally poorer then the white majority) and by anti-abortion groups.

Thankfully, this idea never gained any support. However, with global warming being the new religion on the block, someone is bound to resurrect it. Bad ideas never die, they only smell that way.
