Child molesters have a short life behind bars. Most criminals are fathers, too. Pedophiles are at the bottom of the criminal hierarchy.

Yep that is what we want to be a society that jails people and yet fails to protect them.

BTW, do the math on the article. The guy is 30. He was convicted no later than 1995 since he had been in that prison that long. You do realize that it is now 2008, right? That makes him what 17 when he committed this crime at most. Perhaps it took a year for him to be tried/plead out? That would make him 16 when he committed this crime. This is the type of crime that might go undetected for years, but if only a year, that would have made him 15.

Now maybe the article has incorrect dates or ages, but based on it you should be ashamed of your view and ashamed of CA for failing to run a reasonable prison. When people are sentenced for a crime, job of the state is to see they do the time but not to allow them to be harmed.

Child molesters have one of the highest cases of recidivism out there. If he were ever put back out on the streets, I have no doubt he would have immediately started preying on children again.

I have to say, there is something seriously wrong with a society that uses its convicted felons to mete out justice while our lawyers, judges and politicians - whom are sworn to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies... - stand by and watch. I cringe every time I see someone post something akin to: "Wait 'til he gets to spend cell time with Bubba" as if prison rape and murder is the best our criminal "justice" system can do.
