Does anyone believe that Michelle Obama is not a strong influence on her husband?

I can understand why prior candidates have said to lay off their children. It was appropriate to not talk about Chelsea's looks or the Bush twins college sprees, but a potential first lady's campaign stump comments are relevant to the future of this country

There hasn’t been a day since 1999 that Laura Bush hasn’t been called a murderer by the left.

What about Cindy McCain? I have read official DNC press releases calling on her to release her tax returns. Shouldn’t they now by off limits?

If he wants his wife out of discussions...then the last thing he should have done was go on national tv and tell people to stop talking about her.

Ahhhh!

Maybe he was correct in saying he never heard Wright make various comments in church, because learned years ago how to tune 'others' out.

This is emotional demagoguery designed to get women to vote for him because “he’s standing up for his wife”. If his wife was a sweet lady who did nothing more than encourage people to vote for her husband because he’s a great guy and would be a great president, he might have a point. But that’s not the case. She’s a sharp-tongued radical who never misses an opportunity to lecture us on how harsh our nation is and on how backward we all are because we’ve not done more for the Obamas. As if elevating both of them to six-figure a year jobs they weren’t qualified for via affirmative action isn’t enough.

It may also be a pre-emptive strike attempt against a rumored videotape showing Michelle ranting in Jeremiah Wright style against white people.

This morning Quinn (talk radio 104.7 out of Pittsburgh) said that there is a rumor floating that there is a video of Mrs Obama where she absolutely rants on about white people. Very damaging.

I do not think the video exists (though I wish it did). I certainly would not be surprised to learn that Michelle has made such rants, but I doubt they have been captured on video.

This reminds me of the the 1988 campaign, in which it was rumored that a video existed of Kitty Dukakis burning an American flag in her younger days. The video never materialized, but the image of Mrs Dukakis burning the flag was at least subliminally in the back of some people's mind from then on. I think this Michelle video rumor is just a rumor put out by the Beast.

A compilation (of things we can’t reference regarding Obama) from the various posts just in this one thread will provide the talk show commentators with enough data to last a couple of weeks.

Obama should have thought of the consequences before allowing his un-American, hate America first, wife take the podium.

Obama continues to associate himself with undesirable miscontents ... then has the audacity to defend their nonsence... s pffft

If he wants people to “lay off” his wife, then he needs to pull her OFF the campaign. Whatever she says is fair game as long as she’s speaking on his behalf.

Her not being proud of America is bad enough, but what I despise almost as much is her fake poverty routine. I recall an event where she talked about how expensive it is to give her children summer camp and piano lessons. Then she complains about her student loans. But to me the capper was the speech about how until recently the Obama family had to worry about opening the mail and avoid bill collectors. Of course, when called on that, a campaign aide said the family is “trying to find the records.”

" The winner of the Republican primary, Jack Ryan, was torpedoed by a liberal judge who released damaging court records from Ryan’s divorce proceedings which forced him out of the race. "

Bingo. The guy wasn't vetted by the party beforehand. We all know that the kind of situation described in those records is permissible only for Democrats.
