Angela admits that Lisa was sexually active at 14 with her then boyfriend, so perhaps in this misguided girl's mind it is not such a big step to run away at 16 with a man not far off his 50th birthday.

There is of course, the example of Warren Jeffs and his FLDS sect. The little-publicised fact of several otherwise-rare genetic diseases cropping up in his inbred followers (mostly descended exclusively from the two clans that founded the sect in the early twentieth-century). Breakaway members have said Jeffs has been aiming to breed obedience in his flock.
I'll get flamed for this. Back in days of old when children had mothers AND FATHERS pervs like Nigel would leave town nursing bruises...or vanish (do a search on "Shoot+Shovel+Shutup").
I'm not saying those times were perfect but they were better than what we have now.

Dysgenics is a concept heavily studied in biology and anthropology. The field is currently applied to breeding programs for animals in captivity (where selective processes have been eliminated, much as they have almost been eliminated in the welfare-nanny state).
Eugenics is a system where one hopes to engineer a better population by not allowing certain people to have children (by forced sterilization, etc). The goal here is population superiority.
Dysgenics is a system where one hopes to engineer a better population by making sure that everyone can have children (by subsidy, entitlement, etc). The goal here is population equality.
Those are two points on the triangle. The third point is laissez-faires: neither government program is endorsed. Sink or swim - you and your progeny will flourish or perish based on the abundance or absence of individual merit, which includes the provision of assistance voluntarily by individual agents, as THEY judge the merit of your need. The goal here is liberty.
This is totally depressing. Of course, while Mom is due for her share of criticism, she’s the product of a dysfunctional society that doesn’t value marriage, doesn’t value proper authority, and basically, doesn’t value values. If it feels good, do it.

The girl is hot! I saw her picture. She’s a very attractive young woman. Her mother is the quintessential British mom nowadays. Sitting there all overweight and slovenly with her “wife beater” t-shirt on. Go figure.
At least the teen girls still have some femininity in the UK.

Yeah but it has been and is (thank goodness kids can speak up now more so then in the past) rampent in all the world for mostly men to cross the line of decency and destroy that part of a childs innocense.
It either kills part of that lil persons soul for life and they have a hard time functioning healthly for life or it makes one determined to survive and very aware throughout life that no one can be trusted.
Just like murder ect...it is part of human nature to sin gravely.
It is those who heed to the holiness and love of God or his wrath that find grave sins abhorant and travel through the narrow gate.
Wow, they really don’t have statutory rape laws in England? That’s amazing. And very disturbing.
The girl’s parents shouldn’t have let her have sex with her teenage boyfriend either, but even if the girl was a virgin, this old man could still legally come along and seduce her. It’s disgusting.
