Great tag line!
Ha!
They’re taking names for different Cabinet posts... :)
I wrote this a couple of days ago, but it applies, so here goes again:
There will always be an emergency that will have people saying, "But you've gotta vote for the RINO! Abortion/2nd Amendment rights/Welfare/Supreme Court Nominations/etc depend on it!"
There will always be people who will tell us that we have to swallow garbage because they are somehow of the opinion that conservative garbage is better than liberal garbage as long as it is for a good cause, whatever that good cause is.
But there comes a time when we have to realize that the lesser of two evils is still evil and that moral relativism is an insidious mental disease conquered only when one says "no more!" and means it, come what may.
It has to stop somewhere and now is as good a time as any other.
Actually, now is a better time than any other, because the longer we wait to fix what is broken, the harder it will be to fix.
We have plenty of time to clean out the RINO cr*p in the GOP stables, so long as the *country* remains intact. We cannot assure that will be the case with President Obama, he is that bad that the country as a whole will never be the same. Even his slogans are recycled communist themes!! ... With a Democrat Congress likely, we cannot afford a Democrat free-ride.
Vague threats about how Obama will dismantle or destroy the nation look like what they are: fearmongering silliness.
Very few of us are as forward-looking as Thomas Jefferson or the rest of the Founding Fathers. We are simply not in Mr. Jefferson's league. Their design is not so easily destroyed. That you or anyone would think it is or could be shows your lack of faith in what makes our nation great.
Maybe that explains the fear mongering that is taking place in the GOP. We simply cannot see our great nation for what it is: the strongest, most stable place on the planet. We have not suffered through dictatorships or juntas because our nation was designed correctly the first time by men wiser than we will ever be.
Our nation has weathered worse than Obama and McCain combined, and will almost certainly do so again. And when it does, it will remain intact. This nation was designed to survive tyranny, despotism, jingoism, all manner of political stunts and idiocy. This is the greatest nation the world has ever known, made so by men of vast intelligence who were Divinely inspired.
Have a bit of faith in what Mr. Jefferson and the other Founders made. It is not so easily destroyed as you seem to imply. It was here before either of the current two parties, and will be here when they are consigned to the dust bins of history like the Whigs and others before them.
It is sincerely distressing that you seem to have so little faith in our nation, yet wish to preach a platform of "patriotism" and wag a finger at those of us who say "no more" because we see the current situation for exactly what it is.
Comments at NRCC much higher now. A true groundswell coming from people that would rather be out enjoying the fine weather BUT took the time to comment cause of the supreme level of frustration.
Does my heart good to know there are some like (and sensible)voices out there.
Who are the real patriots? The mental cripples with their clothespins? Or the ones who dare point out the Emperor's clothes?
Wow! AMEN! Excellent post!
But McCain REALLY BELIEVES in open borders, and this is a continuing problem for him (among a finite number of other problems for McCain)!
886, and STILL blistering! About ten pro-McCain postings, in total... and half of those are all from the same pinhead ("Daryll"). WOW!!!

Makes you wish we could swap out some of the paid shills hereabouts for a few of the conservative firebrands over there, the way they do in Major League Baseball. ;)
We are finding out that many of us, not just a few, are tired of the Republican applesauce that is just faux opposition. Our people don't oppose. The press, even Fox News, presents these Beltway Boy toadies as representative of GOP thought. They are out of touch and they don't care. Cocktails parties and encounters in the men's room are the platform of modern day PC, freedom stealing, weeny Republicanism.
They need to go. We must let them go under. When an addict is using, their family has to let them hit bottom and stop enabling them, even if the temporary consequences are hurtful to the family. That's where we are at.
I'd rather face my enemy, rather than have them infiltrated among my own side. Our party has left us and represents only wealthy, corporate, brahmin types. If they won't lift their voices, if they won't fight, if they conveniently lose every major battle, then what in the world good are they?
McCainism must go down. It has to die the death.
Perfect. ;)
“Washington is so jammed with parasites looking for a teat...that ANY organized opposition-IOW any Conservatives-will be run out of town . Period. This, folks, is a far BIGGER problem than just one with the Republican leadership.
Pay attention the the Farm Bill that just passed. Its not the average American Joe that is demanding handouts thats driving the bus here.
Its any large organization that has the cash to buy a few K St. lobbyists to twist congress arm. The boys on Capitol Hill that are unresponsive to said arm twisting...well these organizations can afford to make sure theyre replaced in the next election cycle-and in fact, with what the new boys will send them legislatively will far more than make up for the cost of replacing a recalcitrant congresscritter. We Americans have a far bigger problem on our hands here than any of us could possibly imagine in our worst nightmare.
In other words....the corporate money driving this scam is so great and powerful...that politicos feel the need to play ball. Or else.”
You nailed it, mo. Nothing more than a Corporate Oligarchy. I figure 5% at best in congress actually have our interests in mind. Both sides. DC needs an enema.
“Envision the Troops coming home, and hearing the disembodied voice of sneering, looking-down-his-nose McCain, the spiel about 50 dollar lettuce pickers .
“You can’t do it”. “
I know one of those troops who wrote him a letter applying for that job.
What a mess.
Over 900 postings right now. I just gave them an earful too. I’m glad to see conservatives stand up like this.
Nice post, Finny.
This Obama lite agenda is garbage!!! What has happened to the conservative core of the GOP? I don't want to, and will not, belong to the second liberal party in the USA. I'm a conservative and will only support a conservative agenda. For starters: 1. Fight for energy independence. Drill in ANWAR and off our coasts, support nukes and alternative sources of energy...but drill now! This IS a national security issue. 2. Secure our Southern Border! 3. Make the Bush Tax Cuts permanent. 4. Reform IRS 5. Win the War on Terror 6. Fight for the approval of conservative judges. McCain has shown his contempt for conservatives like me...and I believe he can win without me...in fact he'll have to. But we can't stem our losses in the House and Senate w/o conservative support. The so called moderates and disaffected democrats who will probably vote for McCain will not vote GOP down ticket. And if conservatives stay home they won't be supporting your candidates either. Wake up and listen to what your base is telling you!

What’s good too, is that the people writing comments are using their real names and not anonymous code names like ya’ll always do here at FREE REPUBLIC. It helps that although there may be anger and some swearing, most posts have a point, and the people aren’t writing back and forth to each other like so many FREEPER postings. I suggest FREE REPUBLIC changes in this direction
“The eerie silence in the scene from ‘The Birds’ as more and more conservatvies show up and stand silently, but increasingly more tense and menacing, sounds perfect.”
“I like it and would participate in a heartbeat.”
Thanks. I wrote it. Silent protest is good and really easy to do in this country because we’re free to do it and all you have to do is show up. Imagine if 500,000 conservatives had a silent protest at the Washington Monument Mall, I think a few news cameras would show up. I think conservatives fear being present because we see crazy leftist groups tango with police and throw tomatoes around. Last 4th of July I marched in a local parade holding up signs for pro-life. We had people of all ages in our group and we were led by the Knights of Columbus. We received much applause.
I think your observations have merit- for whatever it's worth.
Just an old Keyboard Cowboy...gating back out, into Cyberspace and the -Dreamtime--
Clueless political hacks. They think we have no choice other than to accept the RINO/Liberal pablum they keep serving up to the conservative base.
They, and especially McCain, have a real shock coming in November. It ain't gonna be pretty.
