Maybe the Obama-inspired tremor that began in Chris Matthews’ leg has traveled up to his head and done some damage.

Last night on Hardball, Matthews was discussing–what else?–President Bush’s unconscionable Obama attack in the Knesset. The conversation with conservative radio host Kevin James wended round to the career of Neville Chamberlain, and Matthews began to excoriate James for being ignorant of history. Things got very heated, and James fired back, recounting recent historical examples of America’s failure to counter terrorist acts against the U.S. When James mentioned Bill Clinton’s lackadaisical response to the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen, Matthews’s chimed in:

Wasn’t the USS Cole under Bush? . . . Kevin, when you’re trying to make a historic reference, get it straight.

Unfortunately for our side, Kevin James came out looking like a dufus, but Chris saved him in the end with his stupid remark about the Cole happening under Bush’s watch.

Chris, you really are a piece of work... even for a leftist sympathizing fellow traveler.

Please tell me when Bush called Obama’s name. I think his guilt outed him.

(President Bush's speech)........was Barack Hussein Muhammad Obama's name or that of Nancy Syria Pelosi ever mentioned? Ahhhaaaaa the shoe fit didn't it - well they are claiming the speech was about them...it could have been about Hugo Chavez or Sean Penn, what on earth makes Barack Hussein Muhammad Obama think this was about him? Hummmmmmmmmmmmm?

Mr. Matthews is too self-absorbed and arrogant to be embarrassed by ANYTHING (no matter how wrong or ridiculous) he says or does.

I think if W was addressing anyone in particular it was Jimma Carter who met with Hamas and has a warm heart for terrorists everywhere. And when it comes to being a true appeaser, who is better at it than Israel itself, who gives land, guns, etc for an immaginary peace with terrorist thugs. In fact Israel has been playing a game of stalemate with the terorists for 40 years, rather than risk world disapproval by wiping them out as they should have decades ago.

"I think if W was addressing anyone in particular it was Jimma Carter ..."

I think W was addressing anyone who has met, or advocates meeting with terrorists in appeasement.

And, he did it with a "if the shoe fits, wear it" attitude.

Good for him.
