Biden: Bush's comments were 'bulls**t'

Sen. Joe Biden, piling on to Democratic complaints about President Bush’s speech in Israel today:

“This is bullshit, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset . . . and make this kind of ridiculous statement.”

Speaking before the Knesset, Bush said that “some people” believe the United States “should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along."

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is—the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

Democrats have interpreted the comments as an attack on Sen. Barack Obama, and Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said that the president was out of line.

“He is the guy who has weakened us,” he said. “He has increased the number of terrorists in the world. It is his policies that have produced this vulnerability that the U.S. has. It’s his [own] intelligence community [that] has pointed this out, not me.”

Biden noted that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have both suggested that the United States ought to find a way to talk more with its enemies.

"If he thinks this is appeasement, is he going to come back and fire his own cabinet?” Biden asked. “Is he going to fire Condi Rice?”

In a separate statement, Sen. John Kerry said that Bush "is still playing the disgusting and dangerous political game Karl Rove perfected, which is insulting to every American and disrespectful to our ally Israel. George Bush should be making Israel secure, not slandering Barack Obama from the Knesset."

The White House insists that Bush wasn’t referring specifically to Obama, an argument that Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) called "baloney."

"There is no escaping what the president is doing," said Durbin, who supports Obama. "It is an attack on Sen. Obama’s position that we should not be avoiding even those we disagree with when it comes to negotiations and diplomacy."

Durbin called Bush's remarks "unfair and really unfortunate."

I want to know how John Bolton managed to clone himself into George W. Bush.

It is beneath the dignity of a U.S. senator to use such language in public toward a President. Bush has had to endure this treatment for years. About time he hit back and put political hacks like Biden in their place.

They’re going absolutely berserk - arent they? They hate it when they get exposed as the appeasers they are.

>>>>>He should have been saying this for last 4 years.

Bush has been saying exactly that and he's been saying it since 9-11! Where have you been?

And I can see no better venue than Israeli's 60th anniversary celebration.

Kudos to Bush.

Frankly, I don't want to hear this crap from the likes of Biden and Pelosi. The Left in this country have talked down the US and given aid and comfort to the enemy for years. Their supposed outrage is laughable in the face of the cowardly appeasement. My suggestion to Joe Biden is that he STFU.

Obama is tainted by Jimmy Carter’s efforts. Jimmy Carter and Hamas have both endorsed Obama. Obama said that he could not criticize Jimmy Carter because (unlike say Don Imus) Carter is a “private citizen”. And then he flip flopped and distanced himself from Carter...

Obama is also on record saying that he would talk with Iran and other enemies of America.

Still waiting for him to try to arrange a meeting with Republicans across the aisle.

Comments are not the problem. Venue is. At least to me.

He should have been saying this on our soil all along. Every state of the union speech, every public address. The Dems are having a hissy fit because they had GWB squeaking like a mouse and now finally the mouse has roared. It is WAY overdue!

"Some people" is pretty vague, IMO. He could have been referring to Europeans. The democrats assumed that Bush's broad statement applied to them. What was it Whitaker Chambers said:
"Experience had taught me that innocence seldom utters outraged shrieks. Guilt does. ..."

Senator Biden (D) returns from his conference with Hamas with the promise that they will recognize Israel.

This from the Duke of Delawre, whose staff can’t pick up the phone to hear constituents views. This POS should have his mouth washed out with soap.

Bet he didn’t learn that in Catholic school.

Judging from the Democrats’ responses, I’d say the President’s speech hit the bullseye!

THE FALSE COMFORT OF APPEASEMENT.

God bless GWB for saying what must be said, and for continuing to fight in the face of overwhelming odds. He doesn't gain for warning us of the dangers of appeasement, his detractors make sure that, on a daily basis, we have reasons to hate this man. I never bought their BS and I never will. GWB knows more about the machinations of the GWOT than anyone, and he continues to fight. GWB fights for all Americans, whether they realize it or not. Whether they care or not. As so many lazy, insulated Americans do!

I have a lovely home. Two dogs. A garden. My affairs are in order, and I live a contented life. Islam seeks to destroy that for me, it seeks to make me say do things that are not only foreign, but heretical, to me. America needs to EXPELL these people from our culture, we need to excise the cancer that is Islam from our American culture. It's not PC, but it's the truth. The Muslims need to go back to their sand dunes of origin and stay there. FOREVER.

HAW HAW HAW!! Did Joe Wilson and the Plame Dame write this?

The shadow government has undercut the administration at every turn.
