Biden: Bush's comments were 'bulls**t'

Sen. Joe Biden, piling on to Democratic complaints about President Bush’s speech in Israel today:

“This is bullshit, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset . . . and make this kind of ridiculous statement.”

Speaking before the Knesset, Bush said that “some people” believe the United States “should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along."

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is—the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

Democrats have interpreted the comments as an attack on Sen. Barack Obama, and Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said that the president was out of line.

“He is the guy who has weakened us,” he said. “He has increased the number of terrorists in the world. It is his policies that have produced this vulnerability that the U.S. has. It’s his [own] intelligence community [that] has pointed this out, not me.”

Biden noted that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have both suggested that the United States ought to find a way to talk more with its enemies.

"If he thinks this is appeasement, is he going to come back and fire his own cabinet?” Biden asked. “Is he going to fire Condi Rice?”

In a separate statement, Sen. John Kerry said that Bush "is still playing the disgusting and dangerous political game Karl Rove perfected, which is insulting to every American and disrespectful to our ally Israel. George Bush should be making Israel secure, not slandering Barack Obama from the Knesset."

The White House insists that Bush wasn’t referring specifically to Obama, an argument that Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) called "baloney."

"There is no escaping what the president is doing," said Durbin, who supports Obama. "It is an attack on Sen. Obama’s position that we should not be avoiding even those we disagree with when it comes to negotiations and diplomacy."

Durbin called Bush's remarks "unfair and really unfortunate."

I love this.! It's OK for the libtard traitors to go meet with dictators and sponsors of terrorism and no one says a word, but let Bush call the appeasers what they are and they go nuts.

This is excellent!

I guess they've not yet figured out that the president wasn't just talking about Obama but all of them, too.

****Obama then reminded the crowd that Clinton called him naive for saying he'd meet with the Iranian president, and defiantly said, “I'm not afraid of negotiating with anybody. I fear no man. Or woman.”****

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,307516,00.html

Iran is a terrorist supporting nation and has sworn to destroy Israel so that makes them terrorist and Obama said he would “negotiate”.
Negotiate what? The number of Jews Iran is allowed to kill before taking the land?

Obama:

"It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack," Obama said in the statement his aides distributed. "George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."

This is emprical proof that Obama doesn't feel that Iran (among others) is a terrorist state. Otherwise his statement is a lie.

It's also interesting to see the libs complain that the President's "bulls#@t" pro-anti-terrorism remarks were made on foreign soil. Silly Bush forgot that only anti-American statements can be made on foreign soil.

President Bush’s statement is unassailable. It is the democrats who are attacking the president while he is away.

He should have been saying this for last 4 years. He should have been saying those things over here.

I don’t appreciate or support attacking fellow Americans in front of foreign Congress.

Comments are not the problem. Venue is. At least to me.

We wouldn’t like it if Democrat dumped on Republicans in foreign lands. We shouldn’t expect them to enjoy it either.

JMO.

LOL. Loopy Liberal Linguistics = another way to say Terrorists. So Bush is attacking Obama who wants to negotiate with terrorists = about time. Maybe Hussein should change his name to Barack 'Neville' Obama

Obama? PLease!

Who was just over there making diplomacy with the enemies of Isreal? Who sat down with members of terrorists groups who continually call for death to all Americans? Who?

Bush b*tch-slapped Jimmy Carter in front of the Knesset.

IF Obama never supported engagement with terroists, then WHAT THE HELL IS OBAMA TALKING ABOUT???? Obama wasn't mentioned and Obama himself claims the president's words don't apply to him. Incredible.

It's just a cheap political trick by Obama.
