AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, and Doctor of Democracy. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Nah, you know better. Some---under 10%. But that doesn't explain his "support" in the primaries, and the hatred of Romney, the utter inability of Thompson to do anything, and the lukewarm popularity of Huckabee.

The fact that conservatives are afraid to acknowledge is that a lot of the "base," or the primary voters, aren't nearly as conservative as we'd like.

OR . . . they're malleable, but need a national conservative message/leader to energize them. But while I think conservatism is alive and well, I also am disturbed by the very fact that McCain had little competition in most states, and that the so-called "conservatives" like Hunter, Brownback, and Thompson, got KILLED.

You know, I cannot recall a time when I heard so many in a party dissatisfied with a nominee as I have heard and read with McCain.

Check out this "Alternative Political Party" website.

ALTERNATIVE POLITICAL PARTIES

I'm leaning toward the "American Beer Drinker's Party" myself.

“They are going to organize for 2012, but they might have a candidate to write in this year.”

If it is Thomas Sowell, count me in.

Do you remember 1976? The dissatisfaction with Ford was intense. Many anti-Nixonites, who wanted a purge, hated him because he pardoned Nixon; and many conservatives were angry because he was viewed as a Nixon extension. Not that it wasn’t a well-deserved reputation.

McCain wants to appoint judges in the image of Alito and Roberts.
Obama wants to appoint judges in the image of Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg.

McCain wants to win the war.
Obama wants to lose the war.

Those are two issues a conservative can support.

You go ahead and vote for Obama, I'll do the grown up thing and vote for McCain.

I think he’s envisioning a “Wilderness Experience” for the GOP in upcoming years.

I think the “Wilderness Experience” for the GOP will last about 3 years - then the GOP will fall off a cliff. I am going to PROMOTE FALCON PARTY.

But, see, this is the problem when you actually get into POLITICS. Sowell has never run for anything, let alone President.

It's the Alan Keyes problem: never run for anything you can win, because then you have to make tough choices, even on the things you ran on. For ex., Reagan had to forget about shrinking government and completely reneged on trying to eliminate the DoE or DoED. Later, he agreed to a modest tax increase. All that was to obtain bigger objectives---rebuilding the economy, defeating the Soviets.

Many of the people we admire are not pols, nor cannot be pols, because the minute they "lost their purity" by voting (say) for a tax bill, or against energy, or whatever, they'd lose large numbers of those who support them because they are "pure."

With McCain’s history over the last ten years, how can anyone trust him to do anything a Conservative would like?

There are only two issues on which I trust McCain. First is his support for the war against Islamofascism (though his own experience as a POW has generated bad judgment on torture). Second is his opposition to abortion, and he's not as strong on that as I'd like.

On every other issue he is a liberal. He fits exactly into the Scoop Jackson Democrat mold, and I wish he'd be honest and switch parties.

Good grief, how can real Republican voters not see what the UnAmerican Democrat party, and their media, have done to this country, its war efforts, slandering the US and its President, aiding and abetting, leaking intell.....?

Obviously they are uninformed, more evidence that the 40 year reign of liberal the liberal MSM/Hollywood/Academia “war room” must be destroyed, and countered.

And I agree with him that the RNC/NRSC/NRCC will read the losses as proof they need to move even more to the left.

And soon, the CONSERVATIVES will be welcomed into the FALCON PARTY.

McCain will take the path of least resistance with judges, as he has for at least ten years. He will appoint exactly one judge like Alito or Roberts. When they fail, he will go along with his friends and nominate someone they will like. I expect support for Iraq will follow the same path. The man has proven over and over that he has no principles, he takes the path that allows him to appear to be a success. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Kennedy... if they had not been running against each other, I would have expected a McCain-Clinton or McCain-Obama by now.

If he has any coat-tails, it will be to bring in Left of Center candidates like himself. We lose either way. If this impending disaster gets blamed upon Republicans/Conservatives, then the future is more dark.

I like the stance on sovereignty. We need to engage the world and out compete. We do not want to allow foreign law to be supreme to ours.

1. Defeating the right-wing agenda of the Bush Administration.

Excuse me -- was I asleep when W had a RIGHT WING AGENDA? (Of course, that came from the COMMUNIST PARTY's Platform.)

"American Beer Drinker's Party"

I might need lots of beer if OBAMA wins!

She did not say, or I did not hear which hour. Given this sucky election, hearing Scalia speak is about the only thing I can get excited about.

Ohh that and not voting for McCain in my primary next Tuesday. Still am undecided in November, buy I know come Tuesday, he’s not even on my ballot because I changed to Democrat party to vote in their primary!

And for once and all, while I was lukewarm and slightly opposed to Operation Chaos in the beginning, I just want to say THANK YOU to Rush as OC has provided me hours of entertainment! I am woman enough to admit when I was wrong.
